I contacted the police as I think something was well dodgy as soon as Fusion stopped answering my calls, my credit card was streamed for over 1K. Well annoyed. Police never sent anyone around. Told me credit card company would look into the card thing, and the dispute with fusion was a civil matter. I told them I have literature stating fusion has been around for 5 years, were infact, the company only set up there website this year, they said it was a lie, and does not constitute a criminal offence.
Is there anyone in Manchester that goes near the the office on George's street? The reason why I ask is I rang the shop up once, a different number on the net, and an Asian guy left a message something about the mobile phone shop and then proceeded to leave an urdu message, which I did not understand, as I am punjabi. Contacted register of companies, and said parent company was not bankrupt, they had been struck off for not submitting accounts. Had a word with Consumer direct, they advised to write letter stating
supply of goods and services act 1982
when i started the cashback ask them to get intouch within 10 days
I will wait for the reply then I will contact Consumer direct again.0 -
Hi, i've ended up with two phones (£40/month each) only 3 months into plan and have just discovered this forum! i have spoke to orange who informed me that 6 other companies similar to this have also gone bankrupt. they wouldnt offer me any reduction in buying out my contract/cancelling. just informed i need to contact ofcom/trading standards/watchdogs/etc
although it is mentioned that this company isnt bankrupt its just been struck off ...see above.
surely there must b a clause whereby if the contract is breached by the middle company(fusion in this case then the customer should have a way out?!?! let me know what you guys come up with, i'll do my own research too and keep you all posted.
Cheers

I am yet another person who is unable to get their cash back from Fusion. I am particularly cross because I did everything I could to check them out before signing up. Including checking this site and doing internet searches for complaints.
The advice on this site is that if you are considering a cashback deal then you should ensure you read all the small print and comply with all the conditions otherwise you may not get your cashback. There is a warning that these companies do sometimes go bust. However it seems that a raft of people have been stung and I think the advice should be updated accordingly.
I would also like to see Martin give some advice for people caught in our situation.
We must all start a campaign. Do not take this lying down!! The only way to get any money is to shame someone into action. Complain to trading standards and Offcom now. Complain to Orange too. Write to your local paper and the nationals. Post on every internet board you can find and share your experiences here. Tell everyone you know to do the same and hopefully someone will help.
To the person who complained to the police, and got nowhere, write to the chief constable, explain your suspicions and ask him what can be done and complain about the shoddy service you got when you made your complaint while you are at it. There is a chance that Fusion was an organised scam or possible a Phoenix Company and that is a police matter.
I only became aware of all this today when I tried to phone and investigate the whereabouts of my cheque and found all the phone numbers to be unobtainable but have already complained to trading standards.
We must all work hard together to get our money back! We will have more power if we work together.0 -
orange, must, as others have said bear some responsibility for this. On the other hand, it seems as though you can just cancel the direct debits. Orange must be on a very sticky wicket to chase people for breach of contact when they, in collusion with fusion, have broken their contract in turn.
The mere fact that we dealt directly with fusion and then we received phones and then bills from orange, shows that orange must have a deal with fusion.
So, don't pay their bills.0 -
Hi all,
I've had the same problem but have a different view to this.
The first month of my contract, Orange overcharged me by £500 because I ported my old number and their system charged my magic number. They said this was a problem on the scale of millions and I have only just got my money back (6 months later) Poor orange, big problem to solve......right???? NO! £500 x those milions of customers is a lot of money, a lot of money can make even more money in a saving scheme for half a year before you give it back half a year later.
Now to the problem we all have. I am aware of 2 orange dealers going bust this month inclueding fusion. Both being orange authoried and the main reasosn for s many people taking out those contracts. Orange is not facing a problem of people asking for cashback, they have now made tens of thousands of new customers.
I am very suspicious that orang are being sneeky enough to make a lot of money in very sneeky ways.
To stop this if we had enough people, we could set up a mass scale petition with a report and present this to ofcom/wotchdog. If anyone knows how to make this posible do write back in.
Best Regards

Like others here I find myself in the same predicament. If I find any useful information I will post it here. Orange have been reasonable and offered a lower rate tariff but are insisting that the remainder of the contract be completed.

Orange will downgrade your contract for you after six months anyway. I am going to do that as I never use all my minutes. I do think that the phone companies have taken advantage though, they must know that the businesses these cashback compnaies are running are unsustainable and yet they are prepared to let them call themselves approved dealers!!!
Perhaps a few headlines along the line of "Organge Approved Dealer Ripped Me Off" In the press would make them a little more helpful, it is their good name on the line afterall.0 -
Narran are the parent company of Fusion, they are in the process of being struck of the register of companies everyone who is owed money by Fusion or any other subsidiary should write to companies house and object to them being struck off immediately. Once they have been struck off it will be difficult to sue them.
Even if Fusion are bankrupt it may be possible to sue the parent company.
It is possible that DIAL2CONNECT Ltd. referred to above might be another subsidiary.0
