Happy bunny today - postie has just delivered Cross Stitch Heaven stuff, a xmas chart which may or may not become special date project and ...... new WOCS mag :j:j:j. Sadly I daren't open mag just yet as we are due to go out soon and DH and DS will start tapping their feet if I keep them waiting. Suppose it could come with me and I can start to browse on way.
Hope to make a visit to Ikea and will check out the coloured frames. Will report back later. Just awaiting the oatmeal aida I have ordered now.
Take care everyone,

Ruth - Those little bags look handy, I haven't seen them in IKEA when I've been in - what section of the maze (lol) are they in?
I like the pots of gold bags as well - I used to post on that thread and have made them before, I used them as little gifts for the christmas dinner table.
(I've got those red frames as well)
Just read further on...good luck with your op!!:j
Chicky - that's a very good link for changing skin colours :T Glad to read that hubby is well wnough to go back to work

JCS1 - that little robin is lovely
fos - what a lovely surprise for your SIL!!:j I think I would have done the same. After something has been up for a good while I wouldn't mind giving it away to someonw who would really appreciate it. Sk00bie - Wow you have done loads on your angel! :T I'm loving the stitching. I wasn't sure if it was something I would stitch but it's really grown on me - can anyone tell me if the mag is still in the shops?
Ps - I love those little angels, can't wait to see them made up
Ps - My Cross stitch Heaven order arrived on Saturday morning - it was nice to come home and have a look through that. I got loads of cards and some of those little metal tags that say 'handmade with love' - they were only 50p a pack and will look nice on the back of frames etc.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Here is where I am now
I FINALLY finished the gold bit at the bottom :T It took ages what with the gold thread, the dense pattern and all the 39 ()french knots ( I know, I counted... If anyone's interested the whole design has over 100 :eek::eek:), and then having to outline all the black cross stitches in gold as well! At least I think there should be french knots there, the design isn't clear as the dot appears to be over an area where 4 lines cross. The symbol for a gold french knot doesn't appear anywhere else in the design though so I'm sure it should be there! That's what I'm saying as I've now stitched them all anyway :rotfl:
I made up two of the little angels on Saturday, had to take a break from the gold. Will take a pic later for youAnd might have to have a look at those tags you mention Louise, they sound great.
Ailsb - Loving Charlie Bear and your fairies
Nmm - The picture of Tikaani and Maxie is too cute! Hope you can control the seizures soon though.maria_and_the_imps wrote: »the world of cross stitch has arrived to!
I've updated my sig with all the things I'd like to get done by Christmas and have scared myself :rotfl: They are sort of in order of when they need to be completed and some of them are 'would like to finish' rather than 'must finish' as they've been sat around in my stash for a while so let's see how I do! The list might change though as it's from memory, I left my little notebook with my list of designs in it at home
Hmmm probably should get back to work, first day back for 2 weeks... Ughh!
Oh and PS Louise, Cross Stitch GOld with the angel in it was still in Hobbycraft on Thursday so you might be OK!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

pap - I love the Joan Elliot angel. Polstitches fabric would be lovely but tbh the design will stand out by itself, especially once all the beading etc is done so you're right to save the money :money:(Which mag is the design from btw, I think it missed it?)
Ps your little bird is lovely, it would look nice in a little silver frame. You can always put it away until you find someone who would appreciate it
Hi Louise, Yes that was my thought too. Also I have only just gone onto evenweave and I was a bit worried the different colours would put me off. As with polstitches its multi coloured not a solid colour. Its from Novembers Cross Stitch Collection.... HoweverYes the bird is lovely, I like most of the designs in that little booklet so may do a few yet. I have put it away for the time being

WORLD OF CROSS STITCHING Issue 196
Free Gift - Christmas chart booklet and red/green metallic madeira threads. Some handy little quick stitch designs in there.
SNOWY DAYS - Tatty Teddy in a pink jacket with holly
Nice little design and because tatty is covered up there isn't as much of that backstitch on view :rotfl:
ADVENT CALENDAR - Gail Bussi
Lovely design - larg picture, with some 'Night before Christmas' wording. nnumbered area underneath. The main picture would make a lovely Xmas stitch just on it's own, or even 3 pics as it's in sections
ASSISI CARDS - Lisa Reakes
These are nice, a lot of stitching in them though but they would be worth it. Only give them to people you know would keep and frame them!
Advert page 31 - I love the tranquil look of 'Winters Hush' by Dimensions but I just know I would never get it completed.
HOME FOR CHRISTMAS - Michael Powell - Little house with snow/tree background with fairy lights
I want to stitch this and frame it, it's just adorable45x45 stitches so it shouldn't take very long.
ASK THE EXPERTS - Funny that someone just recently asked about changing skin tones (Mrsm?) and they have answered the question on there as well
GINGERBREAD HOUSE - Joan Elliot
Nice Design, not as stunning as some of hers but a good xmas stitch.
CRAFT EXTRA - Christmas Stocking
Nice but not something I woudl stitch.
DESIGN LIBRARY - In the nursery (classic toys and games)
Great for cards
FAIRY LIGHTS ALPHABET - Lucie Heaton
I could see them making nice napkin ring holders?
ULTIMATE GUIDE TO METALLIC THREADS
VEry useful, explains the differences between them all and gives some good tips.
WREATH CUSHION - Felicity Hall (Wreath with a big red ribbon and 'Merry Christmas in the centre)
I just don't like it, sorry.
BLACKWORK BAUBLES - Anne MacGregor - Pretty designs but not something I will make.
CHRISTMAS CUPCAKE - Nice but not for me.
CHRISTMAS REINDEER - Ursula Michael
Reindeer with hats or fairy lights in antlers. Not somthign I will stitch.
FURRY TALES POSTBOX - Lucie Heaton
Little mouse posting Xmas card. Nice for a quick card.
NEXT MONTH - My MIL would like the Meerkat with bauble earrings :rotfl:Next seasonal window will be there and a 1920's 'Downton' inspired christmas design.
JEN'LL FIX IT - Gladioli or Gorilla quick stitches.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thanks for the review - not sure it makes me want to buy this issue but I'm sure I will then regret the waste of £3.99 like always!!
