As for your comment about 'sharing between friends', that's not exactly relevant here yet is it? You've appeared in our forum and the first thing you've said is that you want us to send you charts because you don't like the idea of paying the asking price for them. The second thing you've said is that you object to our refusal. So far I'm not seeing any friendship.
You will see some swapping of charts in past threads/pages, some of that was illegal and no longer happens, some of it is people taking a risk for a friend. Either way, it doesn't give you a right to demand free charts.
Someone may contact you by PM and offer these charts to you (because we're nice people really). If they do then they are breaking the law to do you a favour and should be profusely thanked. If they don't then you still don't have any right to ask again until you have made friends with us all.

couldn't have put it better myself.

a lot of the forum have been around for 3 years or longer , know each other on facebook etc so we do class ourselves as friends.
i wouldn't trust a stranger on the street who asked me to do something for them, how is this different??.

now perhaps if you'd been around a few months and got to know us (instead of trying to obtain the charts via pm before you openly asked on here...............yes see friends share info) the answers you have may have gone more in your favour.

    Happy Stitching.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

It calls for 28 HPI linen or fabric. Does that mean 28 count? Does the higher number mean smaller holes?
    [/QUOTE]

28 HPI linen is normally stitched across 2 holes so is the equivalent of stitching on 14 count aida. As it's linen the holes may not be totally regular, this is the beauty of linen. Also, it's easier to stitch half and quarter stitches on.

Good luck. What design have you decided on?

Been up since 3am couldn't sleep. Have so much going round my head. We are off to Paris next weekend 12/10 for our 25th Anni, then we have a party for everyone else at the end of October (doing Halloween). Think I have so much going around my head it stopped me sleeping. I've done a list and feel a bit better now. So far this morning have booked train to airport, managed to save £2 by using redspottedhanky and emailed people who haven't replied to invote. Feel better already.

Sorry to witter on off topic. Off to work shortly, could do with being here today but never mind.

    morning all

having split ends and grey bits decluttered this morning so going to be knitting instead of stitchng (or cleaning) for most of the morning, did a quick flit round the bedroom straightening that first thing and was really pleased to find part of one of the keyrings i thought id lost, so thats an extra one to do for my craft stall.
still not heard from lizzie kate so not going to do any more of those just in case they dont reply or say no. i will be doing some but for my own use or as gift just not for the stall.

finished all the back stitch on what i 'think' is my card exchange piece, not fully convinced yet.

    have a good morning all

Thanks Ails, so in that case I could just purchase 14ct aida. [STRIKE]If I were to stitch on evenweave do I buy 28ct? I would really like to stitch it on evenweave as I think it will look nicer but the holes are more defined. I have only tried evenweave once and don't want to jump straight into linen. Also the chart calls for 40cm * 29cm if its over two (for evenweave) will this still be big enough.[/STRIKE]

    Edit -
Purchased 28ct evenweave 50*68cm. However now having my hands on the chart they have used a coloured aida. Unsure what to do now :o

Sorry for all the questions :o

I have decided to stitch a Joan Elliott christmas angel, but I need to buy the magazine first. If not I will order it from, the publishers :T Its in the current 'cross stitch collection'. It looks hard, harder than London/Butterfly even though I can image it being 1/2 the size :rotfl:

    Edit -
    Got it :T

Sorry you haven't been able to sleep, I can understand why :o Hopefully your list may help a little, enjoy Paris :D

Sorry, maybe I should've explained it more clearly. I'm overweight(although I've lost almost 50lbs since summer 2011) & there is more risk of things going wrong in surgery of someone who is overweight. Although he did say to me in my first appointment that he's operated on women much larger than me before! If anything was to go wrong, there are more people on hand in an NHS hospital to sort things out. I just don't understand why he seems to have changed his mind. It's not that he's saying I can't have the op if I don't lose more weight (which I am working on anyway-back allowing!), just that he recommends having it done on the NHS.

I just hope that I don't have to wait too long. It's been 3 weeks since I started my food diary & I've had 3 attacks in that time. I can't cope with one a week and I'm getting to the point where I'm scared to eat anything at the weekends(seems to happen most then). I'll be living on cereal by the end of the month. :(

As for the blackwork map, I was thinking as its very big, starting from the top left and working down might be easier to follow. But I would have to triple count & triple count again, just to make sure I have enough space!

That's awful and I feel for you.
Were you seeing a consultant at a small private hospital? If so then the consultant is right - they do not have the back up facilities if something goes wrong during or just after the operation and have to transport emergency cases to the nearest A&E.
Is it an option to have the treatment done privately but at a local NHS hospital? You wouldn't get the "hotel extras" you get at a private hospital but I guess your main priority is getting the op done asap. Have your tried speaking to your insurance company?

Re the stunning blackwork map does the chart give the dimensions of the finished piece? That should help with calculating where to start stitching - I agree that starting in the top left would be better for this type of design

This is my 10.11.12 - 11.12.13 project. Now I have purchased white evenweave for that but unsure if I should get something coloured? Anyone any opinions. If it helps the design is surrounded in seed beads which don't show up well on the picture The beeds are white and blue.

    Many thanks

    Hi ladies.

Ruth. Thanks for more info and it kind of makes a little more sense now I guess though I still wouldn't be happy that he has changed his mind. Congrats on the weight loss too.

In answer to your map comment, you are much braver than me! I daren't even start small designs from anything but the middle as I just know that even if I counted 100 times I'd still worry the whole way through that I had left enough space and I wouldn't enjoy it. Then I'd likely get near the end and run out of fabric even though I'd counted 100 times :rotfl:

As for me. Cat's are coming along nicely, slowly but nicely :D

PAP. Firstly, that design is gorgeous! I love it!

I think it would look nice on hand dyed fabric like skoobie used for Imagine.

Found this page that shows completed designs similar to yours stitched on hand dyed fabric so that you can get an idea of the finished look, they are beautiful!

Thanks Shelly, its not a design I would usually stitch but I too fell in love with it when I was searching ebay listing for christmas cross stitch. I am so glad it was a current issue though because I would never of got the chart otherwise.

Ohhh those fabrics look lovely, but after emailing polstitches and costing the beads/threads I think I am going to stick with the fabric I have just purchased. Thank you for your reply though :D

Thanks all on the weight loss comments (and all the virtual hugs!). Still don't really notice it myself as it's been a slow loss. Seem to have had more health problems since losing it too. Put my back out more times that I can remember, and had chest infections and now this gallstones stuff. It's like punishment!

sk00bie1-Plain rice for 2 weeks? Eeek! I know the feeling of being scared to eat, though. I'm fine with cereal-usually bran flakes or muesli. It's the evening meal that I dread. Poor hubby is trying his best to be creative with cooking and make it taste good. If I was cooking it, it would probably be rice & chicken or plain jacket potato every night.

flowerofscotland-Yes, it was a consultant at a private hospital. Not sure how big it is, but I know there's no A&E. I guess because I've had bad experiences at NHS hospitals before, I'm a bit scared about having it done there-as well as the long wait times for the op. I've not been in hospitals that often, but after my motorbike accident, my knee got infected and the staff didn't realise for ages (came close to losing part of my leg). Then when I had suspected DVT after a flight to the USA, I was given injections before having an ultrasound, which another nurse went crazy about and said she was going to make a complaint about it as it could've been very dangerous for me. That and seeing my Grandma pass away after picking up a chest infection in hospital has put me right off.

    Back on topic...
postingalwaysposting-I think dyed evenweave would look amazing with that design. Maybe they could suggest a colour that would make it 'pop' as I'm quite rubbish with deciding. I end up getting out loads of fabrics and spend ages deciding what would work.

Might dig out some mags and look for some small christmas designs that will fit in some snowflake christmas ornaments I bought last year. I want to try and make some presents this year to save on cash. Already stitched a reindeer luggage tag for my mum. And almost finished a Forever Friends kit for either her birthday or christmas. Must post pics! Ah...camera batteries are dead. :o
