    Morning ladies.

Ruth. Hope your back is feeling better today. Having just clicked your link I want to say best of luck with the Great Britain blackwork design  Look forward to seeing updates pics on that one! (you have to start it soon now :rotfl:)

PAP. Very nice Rose, I really like it. The little blue bird is pretty too.

Maria. Love the advent calendars, very nice.

Chicky. Thanks for the offer but I have now found the chart I wanted.

As for me. Didn't stitch yesterday as head was pounding so I got the ironing out of the way. Feeling much better today cold wise so will stitch this afternoon.

Thanks. It's still quite sore, but was able to get out today.
I have the fabric & threads ready for the blackwork Britain, but don't know where to start! It's so big that it's daunting.

Here is my little owl all framed. Picked up a mount for 50p and the frame for £6.00 from my local framers and did it myself.

Got the christmas ornaments book from Sewandso today but not had chance to have a look yet. Also picked up Cross Stitcher too but no time to look at that either!!

    Emma

Oh, that owl looks fab in that frame! :T

And then the last one is this one :)

Went to see Fun. They were awesome, so much energy! Here's a sneaky pic, click to see it full size :p

    th_photo-8.jpg

I'd put Baby's First Christmas on one line and then 2012 underneath or in the 'C' like Mags_cat suggested.

Sorry about the massive post :o on with the stitching!

PS anyone going to Watford or Greenford Hobbycrafts tomorrow? Might see you there :rotfl:

Love those mill hill decs. Can't see the pic-is it just me? Might turn on pc to check. Edited to say-can see it now. Might look on You Tube for clips. They look good.

Greenford is the wrong end of the central line for me. If I do make it out, I'll be heading to Romford. If anyone is planning a trip there tomorrow, give me a yell.

Had a rubbish time at the hospital today. Was supposed to be having ultrasound first thing, then pre assessment, then in the afternoon I would see the consultant. Well, they called this morning and said don't bother with pre assessment-they'll do that when I come in the afternoon. Ok, fine. My friend had kindly offered to give me a lift, so went to the ultrasound, then we had 4 hours to kill. :( So she suggested a trip to Costco & Ikea. This was good, as there was some bits I needed to get. Got some nice frames-thanks Louise!-in Christmas red & green and some pretty zip lock bags to store WIP & UFO's in. Will post pics later. Then went for lunch-treated friend as she's been so good with helping me out. Then went back to hospital. Was kept waiting for over half an hour & was in so much pain. Then when I went in to speak to the consultant, he recommended that I go back to the NHS to have the op done. Said there's more back up for me if something went wrong! Why on earth couldn't he just tell me this over the phone instead of dragging me into the hospital? Now I still have to pay the insurance excess, even though all they've done is a blood test & ultrasound (which I had through GP on NHS already) and will have to wait goodness knows how long to get the op on the NHS. Life goes on hold again whilst I wait for an op date. I bet it'll be over christmas. Sorry, feel really down & sad about it all today.

So sorry your appointments didn't go well :( Big hugs from me! Did he say why you should have it on the NHS? I don't know about these things but can't you insist they do it privately/on your insurance? Surely they'd want to do it, more money for them I'd have thought.

Try this link for the band pics, I put them in my cross stitch folder which should be public, or was it a different pic you can't see?

Oh and if in doubt I always start in the middle of a design ;)

On the cone front, think I will order a cone of white thread. its about £11 odd plus postage on eb%y - worth a punt. Shame they don't have black.

Heritage Crafts (the same people that do the kits) sell cones including black linky

Ruth really sorry to hear how today went, i thought that yuo could 'in theory' use private to move up the queue even if you then had the op on the nhs. maybesomeone else who knows more about these things could clarify that one.
i hope you get an appt very soon as it doesnt sound lke you can manage this much longer. BIG HUGS

    Ailsb. Charlie bear is lovely!

beg. Thanks, I did get some stitching done this afternoon :D

brednall. Very nice job framing the owl, looks really good.

    Skoobie. Nice ornaments.

Ruth. Glad your back allowed you to go out today though it doesn't sound like the hospital was at all helpful! Did the consultant explain why having the op on the NHS would better for you? What did he mean by 'more back up if something went wrong'? I don't understand that statement at all. Everything available on the NHS is available privately so how can there be 'more backup if something goes wrong'? I have had treatments on both NHS and privately and have never heard anything like it.
I too would be annoyed at having to pay the excess when he could have told you that over the phone.

As for the blackwork map......find the middle, take a deep breath and dive in :D

Sorry, maybe I should've explained it more clearly. I'm overweight(although I've lost almost 50lbs since summer 2011) & there is more risk of things going wrong in surgery of someone who is overweight. Although he did say to me in my first appointment that he's operated on women much larger than me before! If anything was to go wrong, there are more people on hand in an NHS hospital to sort things out. I just don't understand why he seems to have changed his mind. It's not that he's saying I can't have the op if I don't lose more weight (which I am working on anyway-back allowing!), just that he recommends having it done on the NHS.

I just hope that I don't have to wait too long. It's been 3 weeks since I started my food diary & I've had 3 attacks in that time. I can't cope with one a week and I'm getting to the point where I'm scared to eat anything at the weekends(seems to happen most then). I'll be living on cereal by the end of the month. :(

As for the blackwork map, I was thinking as its very big, starting from the top left and working down might be easier to follow. But I would have to triple count & triple count again, just to make sure I have enough space!

Well done on your weight loss, thats amazing! It doesn't seem clear as to why he won't operate now =/ Maybe ask your GP when you see them? Or can you write to him? I really thought that once a person decided that they want private treatment and they have the funds or insurance to pay for it then that's that! Could you see a different consultant?

And one attack a week!? you poor thing :( At my worst I was only having about one a month and that was bad enough! After my big attack I ate only plain rice for about 2 weeks, was so scared to eat anything else, especially anything with fat in it, so sorry you're going though that at the moment.

Have another hug! :grouphug: and a dodgy one at that :)
