    Loving all the updates. Still to pick up the Lilliput Lane to finish, hopefully I'll get the urge this week!! In the meantime my husband found a cross stitch kit of the evening star train http://www.atlascraft.co.uk/p116154/Anchor-Counted-Cross-Stitch-Kit---Evening-Star/c0-9942-10022 so have that to add to my list of kits to do, it is quite a large kit I've told him it'll be done by his 50th!! (gives me 5 years!!) would seriously like to get it done before then though.

    Yesterday I inherited my mother in laws rectangular shape cross stitch frame, am I right in thinking I have to stitch one end of my cross stitch fabric to the fabric that is on the frame then roll the other end onto the other bar iyswim??

    Hoping above makes sense!!

    if its the same as the one i had (sounds it) i stitched both ends of the adia onto the fabric onto the frame then rolled it round the bars to tighten it up enough to work on then you can adjust and readjust so you have the piece you are working on in the frame and the rest rolled around the bars that youve sewn it on to - hop that makes sense

    posted my sandy hook square off this mornig, cost just over a £1 (think £1,20ish) and you have to fill in a customs form if it contains anything other than paper, id already said it was crossstitched fabric.
    its just a little label
    i said it was a gift for charity with no value. postlady said that was probally best description.
    i recall someone getting sent knitted squares from USA to here and they got stopped by customs and she got a huge bill from UK customs for them.
    kind of defeated the charitable part. (it was a lady called mrstwins who does the subol charity blankets.) cant remember what happened i know she got the squares in the end but not sure if she had to pay the full aamount

    Hi ladies.

    Sweetcarer. Nice update, it's coming along lovely.

    Caroline. Cute finishes. I especially like the Family one for your Aunt, very nice.

    Sounds about right to me. As mrsmp said, stitch each fabric end to a bar then roll up. I have also seen people mention using masking tape or staples instead of stitching.
    Oh and don't forget to find and mark the middle of your fabric first! Last week I got my fabric all rolled up on the frame ready to go and realised I hadn't marked the middle so had to take it off the frame and start again :o

    I have now started my Santa & Snowman! I think I have gotten too used to using darker shades of thread though and the lovely bright thread I am using now shows up any imperfections in the stitches. It feels like it isn't stitching up nicely but I know it's just the difference in colours, the darker shades used in the Cats made any less than perfect stitches hardly noticeable.
    The perfectionist in me has to keep unpicking and restitching until she's happy :D
    :heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Ah, yes that makes perfect sense, thank you both for the fast reply. Unfortunately mother in law passed away end of January so couldn't ask her, we weren't on the best of terms (not spoken to or seen in 3 years) Prob be cursing herself if she knew I'd landed up with her frame and loads of spare threads!! ;)

    :mad:stupid people annoy me:mad:
    A lady on my local site put a wanted out for cross stitch stuff over a week ago (remember the day i put the selling stash up).
    so I sorted it all and let her know a bundle price.
    No reply so I listed it on the local site and messaged her to say i'd now listed it individually etc....
    No reply........
    so i put the bits on ebay yesterday and amended my posting to say this.

    So today I get a message asking if it was still for sale and i replied I had been forced to use ebay (sent her the link) and assumed she wasn't interested.
    Then she offers a price £10 lower then I had offered to sell it for originally.

    I told her I would wait for ebay to run its course as I'd already listed it........ no reply, and she posts another wanted ad so I'm guessing she won't be interested or bidding.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    anyways rant over the new cross stitch crazy is here so I will post a review just as soon as I have switched the light on and can see it.
