Thanks for everyone's help. My Mum searched for their wedding video today but couldn't find it. I know all the other details and was actually a bridesmaid for them just can't remember the year. Their daughter is 21 this year and we think they were married 3 years when they had her, so maybe 89. I sent the daughter a wee Facebook message and she is going to check for me without letting on as they have their wedding certificate in a frame on the wall so she can see it there.

Will post a wee pic later as all I have to add it the year so hopefully will get it finished tonight...xx

My youngest grandson is similarly obsessed and spends most of his time "in costume" so I bought this chart with the intention of stitching a name plaque for him (5 letters instead of 26 is much more achievable :D)

This made me laugh as my initial is J so I look it up and seen it is Jean Gray - and that was me before I was married - my name was Jean Gray lol. oh and I have red hair too.

Been working away on my purple work - will post another update at weekend - might get hubby to take photo as I am not very good at it.

Keep well girls - till next time

Well its my birthday today and I've had loads of presents including a cross stitch trout which was brought as a joke because I hate fish.
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

Happy belated birthday for yesterday winniepooh - hope you had a good day.
I finally started my Emily Peacock hug cushion and it was like doing giant cross stitch with the 7 hpi canvas and the Appleton wool - hope I can keep going with it as it is definitely a long term project and I really would like to be able to give it to my daughter.
I also got the Lizzie Kate promise me chart and four season window chart which I need to finish sorting out the materials for so that I have other things I can work on if I get tired of the hug cushion.
    Happy stitching everyone.

    Hi ladies.

Caroline. Hope you found out the date and look forward to seeing the finished piece.

Sweetcarer. Look forward to another purplework update.

Winnie. Happy belated birthday, hope you had a nice day, apart from getting the Trout kit of course :rotfl:

Perry. Look forward to seeing an update on the Hug cushion.

As for me. The Cat & Kittens are finished!

I ended up doing the whiskers freehand as I didn't like the way they would have looked if I had followed the chart.

I have decided to do a christmas design next, a Joan Elliott from The World of Cross Stitching.
It won over the Bird Table as I want a piece I have stitched to be ready for display by christmas and at the leisurely pace I stitch at I thought I had better start now :D
Just got to try and enlarge the chart a little before printing it because at the moment it's a little small for my liking. If I can't figure it out I'll have to wait for hubby to do it at the weekend so not sure if I will get started today or not.
    This one,

    Thanks! :)

I wasn't sure they would look ok because the chart had them more curvy but looking at my 2 girls their whiskers are pretty straight. I tried to put a curve on a couple but then the line was broken and looked worse.

I agree with you, the christmas pic is very jolly and I can't wait to get started on it!
I couldn't enlarge the chart enough and keep the symbols readable so I'm hoping hubby can work his magic at the weekend for me :D At the moment I've had to compromise, the chart is smaller than I'd like but I can read the symbols.

Up stupidly early on my day off! Loads to do today as we're off to Gran Canaria tomorrow for twelve days. I figured if I got up early I could get everything done and still have some time to stitch later. I want to make a start on the Paris kit I'm taking away as I don't like starting from scratch on the plane.

Finished page 4 of my world map last night. I would love to take this away with me but really need the lap frame and it won't fit in my bag!
