Stops the fabric stretching as well. Only downside is I tend to bring my needle back up by sort of draggin it up the back until I find the correct hole and with the interfacing you can't do that...If that makes sense....lol
lol I drag the needle too!! Interfacing sounds a good idea.....flowerofscotland wrote: »When I'm stitching my Shepherd's Bush stockings on 18 count fabric I use a size 22 needle which helps. You might even need a size 20?
What design are you stitching on your afghan?
I defo need to get a bigger needle, this one is silly.
I bought the various superhero ones from this etsy seller. they are just right for putting one per square with their name on too. my boys are growing up too fast for baby pictures/ ABC etc and are superhero obsessed.
Annoyingly I'm gonna end up having to make 2 as they will both want one.
shows how good the patterns are my oldest was looking at the charts and telling me who was who.
Tho he also told me one was called "marshmellow hunter" which I'm not convinced about!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Thank you all for the comments on Fizzy Moon. Glad you all like the magnet idea. I bought a large roll of it agessssssss ago, so I could cut off strips to my own choice of sizes, it's come in really handy as I make card bookmarks with it too, it makes the bookmark stay in place and will never slide out13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13
May Misson: Complete 20 Stock Cards - 23 of 20 - DONE! :T

I bought some charts from that seller a few weeks ago. Had some from them and a few from Wee Little Stitches etsy shop. Hope to make a start on the Red Dwarf one soon. Most of the other charts were chosen by my hubby-so we've got the superhero alphabet, Munsters, Big Bang Theory and a few other 'boy' things! Lol!

My youngest grandson is similarly obsessed and spends most of his time "in costume" so I bought this chart with the intention of stitching a name plaque for him (5 letters instead of 26 is much more achievable)

Is anyone on here a paid member of any of the family tree sites. I am stitching a piece for the aunt that is lending me the money and need to know what year she got married. Mum can't remember, she thinks it was 88, 89 or 90...lol
I can't think of any other way of finding out...any ideas ??;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
i think information has to be further back than that to be on those sort of sites
freeBMD cant find my marriage in the 80s but can find inlaws in 40s
any chance you can get someone to drop in a conversation how long theyve been wedSPC~12 ot 124

Is her husband still alive? Any children or other relatives you can ask sneakily? I think that's right about the genealogy websites - recent past tends not to be covered.
ETA : do you know where they got hitched? Maybe check the parish records?0 -

If it was 1988 this year would be their silver wedding anniversary. Could your Mum ask your aunt what year they got married as she doesn't want to miss a significant anniversary?
You can sometimes do searches if you know where they got married but this may be even more difficult to find out.0 -

I did debate on that one but preferred the look of the individual characters - not quite so tall and thin
I did fear their shop may end up costing me a fortune :rotfl:loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
