A quick question ladies. I am just about to start on my first big project (well big for me anyway). I stitched the aida onto a frame last night but then realised it is too big to go into my stitching bag:rotfl:. I was wondering what do you keep your bigger projects in to keep them clean (I have an 18 month old and like to keep them away from sticky mitts). The frame is about 15" x 12".
I put mine inside a pillowcase. Have material to make a bag but have never got round to making it - maybe this week will be ghe one where it gets done.

Maria - your girl is lovely, the backstitching really does set it off.

BobbisMummy - nothing to add about how to get your marks out, its all been said. Good luck and let us know.

Caroline - glad the cleaning went well. I hare the everyday stuff but find big clearouts very therapeutic. My craft room (the spare bedroom) now looks lovely. The only thing on my sewing table is the sewing machine, I can walk around the room, sit on the bed settee and there's no projects lying round. Need to geg in there this week and do some sewing.

Flateric - have never been to a "real" game of bingo. Its on my bucket list - how sad am I.

We went to blackpool at the weekend and son was ill through the night, think he aate something dodgy. Never mind I still managed to get to Johnson's which is an aladdins cave of everything crafty. Was very restrained and only replaced the two skeins of thread I had run out of and bought wool for a cardigan which I started last night. As we were imprisoned in our room Saturday morning I started & finished the January part of mablefigworthy's SAL. Will go on laptop later and post some pictures. Have a good day everyone.

Oh, nearly forgot Tesco clubcard are doing the ICHF show tickets for £3.

The ICHF shows are the craft shows at large venues such as the NEC in Birmingham, I thknk there's one in Cardiff and one in Scotland. The one at the NEC is the one I go to, they have them here twice a year, march and november. I can't link on my tablet but the address for more info is https://www.ichf.co.uk

  • Tricksie I do the same as you with my threads and have loads more dmc than anchor.

I have a full set of DMC on bobbins that I bought second hand on ebay last year. I only have a small amount of Anchor, normally kit leftovers. I have to say I don't really like their thread. It seems very thin and knots easily. But I do love the Newton's Law kits so always end up with some!

I stitch on a hoop and always take it out of the hoop after each session then keep it all inside a plastic folder I got with one of the mags a while ago.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine today, even if it is still freezing cold!

    Morning everyone,

Thought I'd better pop in and let you see what I have been up to this week.

This is how Sleeping Beauty looked when I put here away last August

    Sleeping%20Beauty%20Week%204.jpg

and this is how things are looking now (Pages 2 and 3 of 8)

    Sleeping%20Beauty%20-%20Pages%202%20and%203.jpg

Got a bit of a shock because I had forgotten that Page 1 was still to do as I had the fabric rolled out of the way :o. Made a start on Page 4 last night. Progress will be a lot slower this week as last week I had a bit of a lazy week with one thing and another.

Will catch up with all the weekends post later today.

    Take care everyone
