  • Oh, is it the Vervaco one...The ones I have done are by Vervaco. They come with a chart, but the canvas is also marked. The chart helps as sometimes it can be a bit unclear as to which colour should take up that stitch. The wool is already precut but not sorted.

This is why I have never played Bingo, well apart from when we are on holiday. My Mum's next door neighbour used to go years ago. She went about five times a week and had a serious problem with it. However, she also used to tell us about how they always sat at the same table and used the same pens each session. I was always worried if we went we would sit in someone's seat...lol. I love playing it on holiday although pass my card either to hubby or my Dad when I get close as I won't shout house..lol

Cleaning went quite well today. I have 37 things to go on eBay. Anyone any idea how soft toys sell, they are mostly Disney Pooh and Eeyore and Shrek and Donkey. The Pooh and Eeyore are large ones, about 29" tall. Hubby bought me them over the years and I bought him the Shrek ones, but we have loads and Jaxon has loads of his own so no point in keeping them gathering dust on top og the wardrobe. I have kept all my Steiff ones and any really special ones, but the wardrobe looks so much tidier now...

I hadn't appreciated that either (seating at bingo) but I ended up chatting to someone before the game who said that she had her favourite seat.... I did sign up for online bingo last night but I fear that could get dangerous so I've cashed out my winnings - I would rather spend my money (and time) on stitchy stuff.

sorry for hijacking the thread with all this bingo talk !

Another weekend where I haven't managed any stitching and I've just reserved a load of food/diet books from the library so that will probably be next week's project if they arrive soon. Must also decide on a project as the tortoise I was stitching seems to have been forgotten about.

Hi caroline. Yes it is a vervaco. It sounds good. I might get it next month after payday
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

    Hello Everyone!

Thank you for the lovely messages welcoming me back.

I managed to get a bit of stitching done last night and was really happy to do this. I'm stitching with wooly threads at the moment and have to line up three strands. Finding that a bit tedious but had a large cutting session and thats helped a lot.

FlowersofScotland - they are really really beautiful pieces! I'm in awe of them! Although I did read you had 5 pieces framed and you have shown 2....:)

I did take 5 pieces to be framed - one is still there as the frame I chose is no longer available so I had to choose another one when I picked up the other 4. I haven't hung the other 2 yet as I need to do some moving of other pieces to make room and I prefer to do this when I have visitors to help. I will take photos when they are done - one is Mirabilia's Winter Queen and the other is a Pollyanna Pickering design of an owl in flight on black aida

Off topic again, but Hubby signed up to BingoCams. He used to put £10 a month in, hasn't since before Christmas but they send him an email once or twice a week with a free £1 amd they also have a free game every half hour, and then a room which has an hour of free bingo three times a day. It's a good wee past time for him and doesn't cost us anything....xx

Maria - the backstitch does really make a difference. I hate doing backstitch but admit that when it is done it does complete the picture. Beautiful picture.

Sweetcarer - wow love the picture of your flowers. That must have taken hours to do. Glad you managed to get the stains out and complete it.

A quick question ladies. I am just about to start on my first big project (well big for me anyway). I stitched the aida onto a frame last night but then realised it is too big to go into my stitching bag:rotfl:. I was wondering what do you keep your bigger projects in to keep them clean (I have an 18 month old and like to keep them away from sticky mitts). The frame is about 15" x 12".
  • morning all
masie i put my working frame in a pillow case when i want to keep it clean between stitching.

maria that looks lovely the back stitch really brings it out

FoS love your angels/faires always a favourite design of mine

sweetcarer that flower panel looks really nice - loads of work in it so glad it wasnt spoilt

really like pony as well bt cant remember who did him sorry.

Fe well done on your bingo win, i dont go either, we called wrong at bottle top bingo at the pub one night and nearly got thrown out, our friends and us thought it was funny (genuine mistake) but no one else was amused.

no stitching done over the weekend as too busy knitting, but i did take the cemetry stich id done for my niece over, along with the piggy picture (wrapped for mothers day) but i forgot to take my mum the stitch id done with my other nieces name on.

hope all are well and find some stitchy time this week
