Afternoon ladies (or should that be Prevening?)
Soulie - I hope things are going as well as they possibly can for you, sending gentle squeezes your way xxx
Laura16- Love the finished piece! :T
Caroline- I'm a bit of a hoarder I have to admit, so no I wouldn't throw out a half done kit. I am well known on here for my UFO's - since joining here I started 5 kits I have put to one side... ooooh that is not very good is it?!
But in my defence I have finished .... erm ...8 pieces... Oopps!
I definately intend to finish my current WIP - Dictionary of Bra's, it is for my bedroom to finish of the "look" I want in there. Guess I best stop procrastinating then! :rotfl:
That said I have recently perchased someone elses unfinished work from Ebay. She had done a small section of confetti stitching and stopped. I was thrilled as it was a certain kit I want to stitch for my MIL, and I paid only a fraction of what it originally cost - £3.30 incl. postage for a lilliput Lane :money: Kit which was in immaculate condition!
It is on my to do list, which is ever increasing!
Not much stitching done today, as I had a card to make for my cousins birthday. But at least my crafty bug is back!
The black dog has been at the door again, and despite counselling I have been struggling. But the bug being back can only be a good thing! Might even manage a bit of the old stitching tonight when the dinky ones are in bed.
Happy stitching ladies,

Hi all
Not been on here recently as my lappy is still kaput so managed to pinch some time on DH's whilst he is not using it, plus we have all been down with the lurgy.
Some absolutely beautiful stitching going on. Really love seeing everyones projects and am trying to be really good not to go and order the ones I think I would like to do as I am trying to get the ones completed I already have before ordering more.
winnie - re threads I get them from ebay from this seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/westbbc/m.html?item=261170316425&pt=UK_Crafts_CrossStitch_RL&var=&hash=item3ccef6c489&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
Oops sorry don't know how to shorten the link (EdIT - ooh looks like MSE is smarter than me and has done it for me). They also do the bobbin boxes and the bobbin cards that I use for my storage at a reasonable price. I also subscribe to World of Cross stitching and Cross Stitch Crazy.
Soulie hope the chemo was not too unbearable for you.
Blue eyed girl sounds like sleeping beauty is going well.
I have managed to finish DS1's bookmark. A fairly simple space invaders one that I got from a magazine pattern so he will be pleased. Got some blue felt in HC earlier in the week so I will stick it on to that for him. Also got a frame for DH's valentine but as I was so ill with runny tummy I didn't get it done for valentines so I will get that sorted and framed tomorrow for him.
Hope everyone else is okay and happy stitching.0 -
Help needed please!! despite moving house nearly 2 years ago we are still unpacking boxes!! A lot of which ended up in the garage. Hubby today passed me a bag and said "its something to do with your stitching" imagine my surprise when I find a 3/4 completed Lilliput Lane cottage picture that I'd forgotten all about!!! I think started about 7 or so years ago.
I've ironed the fabric but on close inspection there are a few minor pale brown marks. Anyone suggest please what I could use to try and remove these?? never washed a cross stitch before
Thanks in advance
Ps Tatty Ted with Pink Rabbit arrived yesterday, also itching to start that!!0 -
BobbisMummy - I normally gently rinse my cross stitches in either a tiny drop of washing up liquid or star drops in a large bowl of warm water. Though mine are not ironed in stains, I have managed to get a few minor marks out that way. Might be worth a try. Though check the washing liquid doesn't say "do not use on clothes" first. Star drops can be used to clean fabrics so might be a better choice. HTHCross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0

Thank you. Excuse my naivety but what is "star drops"??:o0 -
Star drops is an all purpose cleaner. Its well worth storing a bottleI'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0

What Winniepooh said - It is a cleaning product that can clean ANYTHING! It has been around for donkeys years, my mum swore by it, and I have to agree it is good stuff.
It is about 89p for a bottle in Homebargains (but I think Tesco, Asda etc stock it too). You only need a small amount diluted down for most cleaning jobs.
Well worth having in the cupboard!Cross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0 -
I haven't managed any stitching today. It was a toss up between going to see the new Die Hard movie, going to Bingo, reading my book or stitching. I chose Bingo but sadly I didn't win.... It was fun though and at least next time I'll be a bit more clued as to how it all works. Its hard work keeping up/crossing off those numbers !
Cross Stitch Crazy arrived today. but nothing much appeals and I think I may be cancelling my subscription soon. I'm not really sure about the free gift either (free needle holder). I also didn't find the Bev and Nev cartoon funny either in fact this month's cartoon is plain daft!
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I'm hopefuly I'll get some stitching done tonight/tomorrow....0 -

Try hand washing, wool wash in machine (in a delicates net bag), I've also used Vanish power - you can soak for an hour before a wash, and have also been known to add some to the machine too. Very much a last resort though, but it does work, (though very  when doing)0 -
Thank you all for taking time to reply and with your suggestions. I shall certainly keep an eye out for and invest in some star drops!! sadly no home bargains near me. Fingers crossed the stains will disappear0
