I probably did edit, I usually get to the bottom and add extra comments so keep them all to one post. Still think thurs or fri, can't believe a weekday would be busier than the weekend. I'm not working so don't mind either way. Still waiting on confirmation for moving day, could fall into first weekend of April, so will keep you posted.

    Louise wow Haed looks amazing!

has updated their clearance and added new bits too including some nice beginners kits for £2.99 for 2 designs and liking the flamenco design. :)

I'll keep all the days free until you know when you're moving. :)

Would any of you lovely ladies know where I could get some sewn bunting for my craft stall? Just of my name maybe to brighten up my plain cloth.

    Emma

    Maybe Etsy or eBay?

I've always stitched "in hand," but as I have several large HAED designs waiting to be started, I wanted to see if I could get on with using a frame. I was looking at the various options online, and my friend came over. He said: "I could make you one of those!"

Three hours later, and £12.95 worth of materials, and I have this! :D I've loosened it off in this photo as I wan't working on the piece, but when it's tightened up, the tension on the fabric is superb. Very MSE solution to a £70 purchase I was about to make! :)

Wow! Very impressive. Wish I had a talented friend like that.

Flowers-thanks for the info on the shows. Very useful. It's not fun when it's so busy you can barely move. I tend to get a bit antsy then and find somewhere quiet to sit down and destress. Maybe if the workshops are morning/lunchtime ones, then we could do those first, have something to eat & do the shopping when it quietens down. Haven't got anything in mind that I *need* to buy, but I don't think I've ever come away from a show empty handed. I wonder if The Nimble Thimble are going to be there? Love that shop.

Nice update pics. The fabric works very well with that design. Can't say I remember having issues with DMC variations. Try using shorter lengths, maybe?

  • Fos - Thanks that makes a lot of sense, I'm sure I would have figured that out if stopped long enough to think about it, lol. Let's sew is looking fab, As soon as enough time I will be starting mine now I have the pattern. I really need to get out of mindset about only stitching when I can dedicate a few straight hours and try to approach little and often, sure I would get more done that way.

Ruth- thats cool, let me know if/when you get booked on certain dates and we can figure it out closer to the time. Paper work for mutual exchange will be put in monday, so exciting times ahead and a craft room for me :)

Misty great frame, I brought some frames a while back but still not used and still waiting for floor stand, the women messaged to say she posted last week but nothing arrived :( damn royal mail.

Brednall - no idea about ready made bunting but found a tutorial for easy make bunting online, let me know if interested and will find link.

  • sorry for barging on on your thread but im wondering if you can point me in the right direction.

i can cross stitch however ive never finished one :( but I think ive think ive got probably a week left on the one im doing now :j hopefully. Ive been doing it for 3 years but have been quite ill in between.

Now im after another as I find it very relaxing but hubby wants me to do something that actually fits in with the house.. So it cant have flowers on or teddies or anything landscape.

I spent the day scouring the internet (while im at work:o) to find something modern and absract or just something that hubby wont moan at.......and ive drawn a blank......HELP
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

They have some different designs in this site, but not totally sure what kind of thing you have in mind.

Sew & So have a massive range of kits too. Does your hubby have any ideas about what he'd like?

    Winniepooh,

If you look at the first post in this thread, I think there's a link to our Flickr group where we post photos of our stuff.

Maybe if you had a look through those you'd find something that you and hubby liked or at least be able to narrow it down a bit :D
  • Ooh that's a great idea mags thanks
