Shelly - your cats are lovely. I've never heard of the pklot pens yoj mentioned, off to have a google now.
Thanks!
Same here, didn't know such pens existed but for me they are worth their weight in gold!I first bought a pack of 3 highlighters but didn't get much use out of one of them, might have just been a dodgy pen in the pack but not tried the others as I moved onto the ballpoint pens. I now prefer the ballpoint pens, the one I am currently using has been going for some time.
They do a few different colours and you can buy refills too. Though the last few pens I have bought have been in sales and worked out cheaper for the whole pen than buying the refills.
They are quite pricey but I look out for deals. Staples have offers now and then 2 for £2 or Tesco recently had a pack of 3 for £3.50ish and my last single pen came from Sainsburys £1.30ish:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
morning all
snow day here all school shut including the one i work at:T (even had a text that scouts is cancelled tonight as thats in a school hall thats shut today)
stayed in all weekend apart from walking to the fruit & veg stall, the local shops and mils to take her shopping. so lots of stitchy time.
backread over three pages to catch up and seen some beautiful update photos, read some brilliant advice and lots of friendly chat. cant remember who actually said what now but well done everyone for the brilliant updates:T and i hope all are well and managing to stay warm and upright:)
Ive finished the trotters (Anchor Kit), Instead of writing "the Trotters" under the line of pigs, ive stitched the word 'Mum' and the names of me my sister and brothers, all in age order. and stitched "the Family" above them. Ive taken a photo of it without the wording on and will post it up later.
Found a little Jane Greenoff butterfly kit in my stash. Its a peacock butterfly so ive stitched that on a bigger piece of fabric and hoping to add my nieces name and perhaps her name meaning above it. Butterfly is completely finished including the backstitch, i havent got the mount yet so not going to but a border round till ive got that so i know what size to stitch.
edit
scrap that idea the meaning of my nieces names is apparently "Sorrows" i'm not stitching that. off to think of something else to fill the space above butterfly with to personalise it moreSPC~12 ot 124

Hello ladies!
Have been lurking quietly, and all your lovely pictures have got me itching to pick up a needle!
Wedding stuff is still getting in the wayAm going to have to find time to do some, although when I actually will is another matter!
My poor OH has been let down by another friend pulling out of Vegas, we deliberated postponing or getting married in the UK before we go. Now everything has calmed down Vegas is back on as it's really too late to cancel. We're going to have a celebration/blessing at the reception so that all of his family can be a part of it.
Whoever said weddings weren't stressful was lying!!
Now I feel like I've lost weeks of planning and making time so stitching seems like a distant dream!
Shelly - I'm also intrigued by the pens you mentioned, will keep an eye out for them.
Well back to lurking, keep well everyone xxCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

I have been sooo busy over the last couple of months I havent done a lot of stitching. I have been to the pictures three times in lest than 2 months. Thats a record and of course making use of my Orange Wednesdays. :money:
Hope everyone had a good xmas and new year. I did manage to complete the pooh bear backstitching that I got so peed off with before so please I did all framed now.
I have spent all week reading back with what everyone has been doing. I love all the finished work, the framed items and the xmas cards.

Mrs MP -have commented on other thread but just to say troters look great and seems to have stitched up really quickly. Butterfly good to. Could you add something to do with day or month or nieces birth to it or even something about the type of butterfly.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

i can put her name and birthdate - thank you:)
i wont put what she weighed as it upsets my brothers partner to think about how little they were (she was very prem and sadly her sister lost her fight last year)
this is for my mum, id done my brother and his partner a stitch with both girls names on their birth flower, a flower that was the name of my other niece and the balloon symbol from the hospital.
i did my mum one just before we lost the other niece with her name flower and the balloon on. mum looks after my niece now and shes getting so into everything and chatty (well as chatty as 18mth old gets) so mum said she wants a name stitch for this one as well so she doesnt wonder why is missed out on having one when shes older.
the family is getting another addition in march so i need to get this one done before then so i can start on the new arrivals one.
Maria, brilliant idea about the quote, any ideas?
shes a fiesty little fighter and absolutely beautiful (im allowed to be biased shes my niece and uber special)
i honestly think theres a reason for her to be here and she will light up the world somehow during her lifetime. by lordy she has fought so hard to stay there must be a purpose or role for her to fulfillSPC~12 ot 124
