Alisb the pattern is one from a lady sewing for those impacted by the sandy hook shooting she designed it and some others especially for that but said it can be used for other charity stitching. glad you like it.

quick question whilst I have you here, I have been browsing the seller you suggested on eBay, for my first quilt am I better of with plain fabric or patterned or does it not really matter, don't want to make it harder than it needs to be for my first attempt!

Don't wait for me, got to do valentine/anniversary card, belated halloween biscornu and my sandy hook patch before I can consider something for myself. I have stuck the pattern on my birthday wish list though

Managed to finish backstitch on 5th Day of Xmas last night. Will photograph it later when it gets a bit brighter and had a chance to press it.

Will sort stuff out for neices card today.

Will have a walk down to Mums shortly (leaving car in garage) and when I get back washer will be ready for emptying. So apart from drying washing and ironing - its going to be a stitchy day for me :j

Got dental appt in the morning for 8.15 and they are forecasting heavy snow overnight :eek:

i've been tipped off that certain companies have been snooping around this thread........
For the benefit of all concerned can I PLEASE (at the risk of repeating myself) re-iterate what the law is regarding copyright of charts.

(I hope if Joan Elliott is reading she doesn't mind me paraphrasing as she does this best).

DO's:
- working copies of charts CAN be made for your personal use.
- you can Lend, sell, trade or donate a PHYSICAL ORIGINAL chart that you have purchased.
- you can of course post pictures of your finished piece/ WIP/ UFO for everyone to see. If you do please try and make reference to the designer and the name of the piece nearby.
- you can change colours, fibers or type of stitch to make your piece unique.
- you can donate the finished items. you may even sell completed bits so long as they are a one off and not being mass produced.
- you can share links, tips, opinions of works and pictures to show how it is building up

DON'T's:
- you cannot make a copy THEN loan the original to a friend. all other copies must be destroyed.
- you cannot send charts electronically.
- you cannot save elecronic copies.
- you cannot change bits of a pattern then re-post it as your own chart.
- you cannot mass produce a design and sell the finished items without permsision from the designer.

Chicky - did you post an intriguing post last night which has disappeared or am I gojng mad? Likely to be the later.

Made a start on the eye last night. Looks like it will stitch up quickly but bigger than I thought. Off the top of my head its approx 160 x 118. Thought it was going to fit in a 7x5 frame - should really read info and not just fall, for things.:D

Signed up to Sandy Hook squares last night waiting for them to let me know who needs a square stitching for them. Missed this when it was first posted at Christmas.

So my Mum has just dropped off the Sunday paper which means I don't need to venture out today. :j Well I do but only to the garage to sort out the recycling and use the tumble dryer.

I forgot to mention when I posted yesterday afternoon but I was looking at cards when I was in town yesterday for valentines but was disappointed at the naff choice and the price tags so I better get busy and stitch my own ! Thats the plan for today oh and cook roast later :T

Chicky - my last post crossed with yours.

Just to confirm my comment re the twins chart for Brednall was to send her the chart from the magazine, its the original chart, not a copy, I'm not going to make a copy nor have i stitched it myself as I have no twins in the family and I'm not asking for any money. Believe this is ok.

If anyone thinks this breaches copyright can they let me know so that I don't do it again.
