Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I might be able to join in? I've been reading all your posts for the last wee while and I've found them really inspiring. I love seeing all of your progress/finished photos- you're all so talented!
I've been stitching since I was ten when a friend of my mums gave me a little Christmas kit and 16 years later I'm still going. I've always been very grateful to that nice lady!
I'm currently working on two UFO's at the moment. I read somewhere (maybe here?) that you should work on two projects at a time and do four days at a time on each and that way you don't get bored. I'm actually finding it's working quite well for me, so fingers crossed I'll get them both done this year! They're both quite large so I'd be happy with that. One is a DMC Kit called 'Hollywood Montage' and the other is based on a picture called 'The Wave' by Jim Warren, it's of horses forming from the waves in the ocean. It's lovely, but so much blue!
I'll try and get a few more posts under my belt so I can post some pictures.
Phew! Sorry, that was a bit of a ramble. x0 -
Morning all
Back to work this morning /sigh although that means I'll be posting a bit more
Caroline - Glad your wee man is feeling better, I can't imagine how scary it was for you.
Ailsb - Great to hear from you, hope you are feeling better soon.
Mrs M, FOS & Moments of sanity - Beautiful finishes! Mrs M your Angel looks lovely, can't wait to get mine finished!
I've updated my to-dos in my signature now I'm back at work. My laptop at home keep showing all the html codes and then would tell me I had too many characters :rotfl:
As I've mentioned I will probably only be stitching at work in my lunch breaks until after the wedding, starting to panic a little at how much there is to do. It's all my own doing though, I get these crafting ideas in my head and can't help acting on them. My latest idea is to make our wedding cake for the reception  I must be madCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

Welcome Julie :hello:
I don't think there are any rules about numbers of projects to work on - it is very much a personal preference. Some prefer to work just on one piece until finished while others have multiple projects on the go and some (like me) have both WiPs and UFOs
I think I know The Wave - spectacular picture. Looking forward to when you can share photos with us0 -

OFF TOPIC Did you make your own invitations? DS's fiancee has asked me if I would make their wedding invitations and while I am very happy to do so I am a bit stuck for inspiration so any pointers would help.0 -
