  • Fos - I really love the snowman cushion design, lovely swirls :) Is it a Lizzie Kate, if not who? Also what do the letters spell, my brain is mush at mo.

It a design by Bent Creek ( who does have a style similar to Lizzie Kate). It's the whole alphabet with the letters of SNOW picked out in a darker colour

But it does help when I'm looking for gifts. And my Dad (who is the hardest person to buy gifts for) has asked if he can have one of my large xs pictures as his Xmas present. That will be the excuse to get something else framed and on display :D

Result :T And how nice of him to appreciate them and ask :D

Caroline-It's so me! I love it! :D It's exactly the kind of design I'd stitch for myself. Thank you so much. And thank you, Ailsb for forwarding it on before I went away. I don't think I could've waited until next week if the postie hadn't delivered it today.
Quite funny that I stitched a reindeer card & also received a reindeer card.:)

Right, I've got some catching up to do and then I'll post a pic of the card I stitched for my mum...

Ruth. Polar bear is very cute! I think the date looks ok, only thing I might try if it isn't too much of a faff is to take out the / and put in a french knot as a dot along the bottom line so it looks like 12.12.12. or take out the / and use a dash so it's 12-12-12.

Thanks for the feedback. And for yours, FOS -I do appreciate the suggestions. It was rushed, so I wasn't certain I was 100% happy with it. Can't do french knots, but 12-12-12 might look better. DH thinks I should use a darker red too. What do you think? Won't take long to unpick & redo.

Lovely card I received from NMM... :) Woot I did it! Thank you Maria for explaining

Oooh, very nice! :D That's like the fabric I'm using for the Christmas ABC sampler. It reminds me of sunshine making snow shimmer.
I must admit I was thinking of you when I wrote that :rotfl:

That's lovely. How nice of him to value your hard work. Has he chosen a design, or are you going to pick one?

BEG-I love your 12/12/12 picture. He's very cute! The frame is perfect for it, too.

FOS-That snow cushion is lovely. Did you make the cushion bit too? I've used those tuck pillows for my stitching before because I can't sew!

Got lots to do tonight. Have made truffle mix, so once that is set, I need to roll those out and bag them up for gifts. Hope they taste ok. Haven't made them in years.
Went through presents under the tree to find the ones to take to Gloucester tomorrow & there's only a few. Must've taken more than I thought last visit. Which is useful...:)
Having a film night with my Auntie tomorrow. Watching It's A Wonderful Life and eating fish & chips. :D

Ooops, almost forgot! Here's the pic of my Mum's card.

  • Just looking back through the cards. I do hope Ailsb and caroline liked their cards as can't see any pics.

perhaps the stitchers could post what they made so we can see?? Must be disapointing to have put so much work in and not have it shared with everyone else............I know I'd be feeling a bit put out if it was me after all we all agreed to the timescales.

No stitchy stash parcel AGAIN.............I thought across town were pretty quick at dispatch??
Might manage a few hours on dino ABC instead.

Although I didn't take part (because of being on holiday) I've loved seeing the pictures that have been posted.

However, if I had I'd not have been worried if my recipient hadn't posted a shot. I would only have worried if they hadn't received the card.

Would it be an idea if I posted a thread in our Flickr group so that people could add shots in one place?
  • ok girlies I have an off topic question..................

I used to LOVE my intuition razors.......but at £7 for 3 refill blades its now wayyy out my budget!
So i got some disposables..........but I could probably do a better job with a kitchen knife for the shave they give.

SO question.............if you use disposables...........which ones?

    Ta........sorry to go OT.

I so agree about stitching with metallics but they do look great. Your Mum's card is beautiful

I'm going to let my Dad choo any picture he wants. I will let you know which one he goes for and no doubt I will share the replacement when it has been framed

Thank you for the comments on the Snow cushion Yes I made the cushion but it is very plain. I have a friend who makes cushions (and other soft furnishings ) professionally and her cushions are stunning

So pleased your card arrived. Is that everyone now?
