Just spotted this (eeek pic FAR to large)

Am VERY tempted to start using them to document all my projects (maybe replace the bottom writing with a pic).................

Love that idea! Have lots of good notebooks I can convert for that.

Lovely decorations, maria. Sounds like you've had a wonderful day

Aww what a pretty boy :-)

I went to Exeter today... heaving. Ended up buying a jumper in m&s which I could just as easily have bought at home. JL is too expensive for me... and they don't have their usual full range. Disappointing.

Did you visit the haberdashery department? Comments I saw when it first opened suggested that the range on offer was very small. I'm guessing whatever cross stitch they have, the choice is limited and expensive.
Hmmmph work tomorrow... and a manic week beckons. Yuck x
    DITTO!!!!!

CHICKY I like your idea of a Cross Stitch calendar. If I was doing similar, I would want the stitch to reflect the month and designs/calendars I have seen don't seem to reflect this. Would you stitch on individual pieces of aida or one piece?

  • it would have to be on 1 piece flat eric - tried doing MR MEN ABC on seperate ones but it's looking sooo wrong (hence has been a UFO for 3 years with no enthusiasm to finish it.)

wonder if my local stitchy/ crafty shop is open today?? it has strange hours....and is tiny - you can just about get a buggy in but the ladies happily entertain baby while you look around and the offered me a cuppa last time lol.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

It was indeed rubbish. They sold a little bit of ribbon, some wool and a little bit of curtain fabric. Bah.

    Hi ladies.

Brednall. I completely agree. I too don't like to see parts of stitches outside the lines of backstitch. It's rare for me to stitch any design exactly as the chart says because I like it to look right to my eye.

Maria. Blimey you have been busy! They are all brilliant but I especially like the felt owls, they made me smile :)

    TMIF. Very nice lampshade!

    Ruth. Cute Polar Bear!

RE, keeping notes of your work, I keep notes on my pc of each design as I stitch it. I have a folder called Cross Stitch then in that folder each project/design has a folder that contains a pic of the finished design (from the net or a pic taken on camera), all my update pics as I go and any notes I make in a .txt file.
I have a copy on my pc and on an external storage NAS box.

    Here's my latest update,

    Off topic items.

FE. Your cat is gorgeous! I have seen your cat flap thread and for us it was the best £100 we ever spent on something for the cat. She had started peeing on the kitchen floor due to stress caused by an invader coming the house at night but once she realised she was the only one who could get in the new flap she stopped the peeing on the floor.
We have the PetPorte and to be honest the old one had a problem or 2 but the customer service is brilliant. When it had the same problem twice and couldn't be fixed we got a brand new one sent out FOC.

Talking of slow cookers, I have one and have never used it :o I really must work out the energy usage of the SC versus my oven because I know they say SC use less energy but I think in my head that it can't use less energy being on all day than my cooker does being on for an hour to cook a casserole.
My mum also has one and uses it at least twice a week.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

  • maria - tree decorations look lovely.

Ruth_honey - polar bear is so cute.

chicky - you've just reminded me - I'm supposed to be doing MS 12 Days of Christmas for 2012-2013 project and I've only got as far as cutting the fabric to size. Well I suppose it's started :p Love the idea of documenting all projects but I would probably set off with all good intentions and end up giving up in the end. Just like New Years resolutions. :D Had been thinking of using the diary that came with the last WOCS - will think about it for a bit longer.

shelly - you sound as though you are so organised. Great update pic btw.

Just a reminder for anyone doing 12.12.12 projects - it's getting quite close now.

    ***OFF TOPIC***

Got Christmas tree up today - gone for the one our DS calls the 'Christmas Twig'. Last night I was looking for a new tablecloth for the tree table and found a couple I quite liked on Eb@y - the ones I have are cream and I decided I would like a new white/silver one. When I showed DH the ones I was fancying he said he was sure he had seen one of them in HB for £4.99 (on Eb@y I was looking at £16 del). Called into HB this morning and sure enough he was right :j so we made a saving of £11 (treated ourselves to a new garland for the mantlepiece from Wilkos).

firefly - your card has pride of place next to my tree and it looks brilliant. It's the only card we have on display atm. :D

Looking forward to seeing all the card piccies.

    Take care everyone
