Cross Stitch Cafe - stitching out of 2012 and into 2013...

I did about 4 stitches on an anniversary card for my OH earlier before I decided I would much rather lay on the sofa with my audio book, snug and poorly cat. Of course I fell asleep so now I've got to re-listen to the chapters I missed!
I've not really felt in the mood for much today. I've done a bit of tidying up in readiness for tree and other decorations going up but I'm not even bothered about that at the moment.
Rather strangely, I had the irresistible urge to phone my neighbour earlier. I say neighbour but she lives 300 miles away. I lived next door to her for about 8 years and although there is a huge age difference (she is 80 now and I am in my thirties), we always got on very well and I have kept in touch since I moved away. Unfortunately I am rather rubbish at phoning and given her age, its not like she is on FB or e-mail! Anyhow, turns out she is in hospitalso I find it very very weird that the urge to phone her was so strong - almost like i knew something was wrong? I last phoned her in September so a little while ago since we spoke. Very bad of me really - I get so caught up in everyday life - work and all that - that I forget she is on her own all day and my calls mean a lot. Must try harder!

Ruth-Honey, I'm terribly sorry to have got your cat confused with Flat-Eric's cat.
Thats a really cute trick that your cat can do!
I'm going to be turning the 'let it snow' into a bunting to go over our fireplace.
I didn't get to do as much stitching as I wanted to today, but hoping to catch up with some this evening:j0 -
I seem to have slept all day, must have needed it though. Time for stitching whilst watching X Factor Final :T0

Great pics Maria :T Where do you find the time???
Love the lampshade TMIF . I love having a wander around Dunelm Mill.
Just left a little bit of backstitch on MP Cottage and Boofle to finish on special dates - hope this isn't classed as cheating
Was supposed to be having a good clean up today ready for tree to go up tomorrow but it just hasn't happened. Oh well see what tomorrow brings.
Off to catch up with XFactor and Strictly now.
Take care everyone

I *think* the card post is tomorrow, but will wait for Caroline to confirm.
hope you 'neighbour' recovers soon flat_eric.
ok i tried googling slow cookers and energy usage but it baffled me. Personally I only have mine on if I'm at home (I know if shouldn't catch fire etc but I'm still to scared to leave it on).
I only use it once every couple of months, for certain meals, but I know people who use theirs weekly or twice weekly.
- my friend show me a lovely chicken breast recipie and I love the fact I can put frozen chicken in in the morning with uncooked sliced potatoes and a packet sauce mix with lots of water and have tea cooked for me with no effort.
- sausage and bacon casserole - same as above but different frozen meats!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Thanks all for your good wishes re my neighbour. I'm about 300 miles away so not like I can visit easily

rather randomly he is currently sleeping on the radiator which has a towel over it and the thing he is sleeping on is my OH's trainer bag which he puts his trainers in when he washes them! My cat is so funny. he will sleep anywhere !! the paw he is leaning on is his "sore paw" he will be back at the vets tomorrow to be checked over. I'm hoping all will be well.0 -
Aww what a pretty boy :-)
I went to Exeter today... heaving. Ended up buying a jumper in m&s which I could just as easily have bought at home. JL is too expensive for me... and they don't have their usual full range. Disappointing.
Hmmmph work tomorrow... and a manic week beckons. Yuck x0 -
awwww kitty is lovellly.
I'm kinda stuck...... helppp.
I want to do a calender of cross stitch next year - so stitch a January pic in Jan, February in Feb etc.......
But I'll get bored if they are all 'samey'. I like calender bears but will get bored doing 12 bears. I like Peter Underhills Calender cats cute and funny - but will be bored stitching 12 cats.
if I mix and match I think it'll look weird. SO does anyone know a 12 month calender stitch where each month is very different???
oh and not a boring motif type one...........jeeez how picky do I sound.......
***off to finish googling***
Hmmmm I've got a margaret sherry one I think....................................how large is each design tho?loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I've done a 12 month Margaret sherry one... I'll look for a pic.
Hmmmm should've ironed that ;-)
