I have e free £10 train voucher which i have to use by the end of December, so it's freee.

    Oh I don't know....

Hope cat is ok FE xx
  • who was after a roast potato recepie?

This is from Co-ops christmas freebie mag (has some good recepies in) - its the method I use - tho I've not quite perfected the boiling time (overcook) or the roasting time (undercook) them yet.

Yay.... it's the weekend :j DH in bed as he's been on nights. My works Christmas do was cancelled last night due to lots of ill people so did all the ironing leaving today free!

Just got to pop to the post office, chemists and bakers in the village and I'm done for the day.

    Started this last night

I think it will stitch up quite quickly, possibly by the end of December? I am seriously addicted to my cross stitch at the moment and it's all I want to do
Going to MIL's 80th Birthday party tonight but no plans for tomorrow.

Have a good weekend girls

This is similar to the Delia Smith method I have been using for years and we all love the way the roasties turn out when cooked like this though it does work better with some varieties of potato than others.

Yum - it's what I will be cooking in great quantity tomorrow

Oooh this is fabulous. I think I have a similar chart but the dress is in black (note to self - find chart and consider as first stitch of 2013)

Wow Louise - great craft fayre earnings there. DId you take pictures of your 'stall'? Hoping to do another one in the New Year and make more than £4 (not bad when the stall cost me £15 in the first place!?!?!)

Looking forward to seeing all the pics of the card exchange. Sounds like you've all put some real effort into the finished items.

On the stitchy front, I have 2 completed coasters and 3 more part finished ones so should be OK for the Christmas table. ALso nearly finished Jemima for Mum but wish I'd worked from the side of the chart that shows the backstitch because I would have used part-stitches as I am not keen on stitches showing outside backstitch but it won't be hanging on my wall when it's finished but I know I will look critically at it every time I visit my Mums!!

    Regards

    Emma

I know what you mean about the backstitch over the stitches but no one else will notice and anyway that's how it was designed so it's not a mistake:)

You have been busy Any photos for us to admire?

    Good luck with the stall

Everyone has now received their cards except for Ruth-honey, which was my fault...well I am blaming hubby for giving me the wrong address...however it should be with her soon.

I think we should hang on until she had received hers and then do the reveal...is this okay with everyone else..

Oh, and I love my card, thinking of making it into a wee decoration to use every year....xx

Sorry for delaying the pics, everyone. I doubt my card will be here by Monday, but I'm happy for people to post photos of theirs then.

Can't believe you were up all night stitching, Caroline! Bet you're feeling tired now.

What did you decide? If you did go out, how busy was it? I'm done with my pressie shopping now, so just trying to get the house sorted out and stitching as much as I can.

Today we've been working on our Christmas food order. We're very low on food generally anyway, so think we'll buy some lighter things in store tomorrow, then have our tesco order delivered after my Gloucester visit.
I hate doing the shopping order. Need to plan meals more, I think. Was considering buying a slow cooker, too. Argos have one for £11.99 at the moment & it's got good reviews. Does anyone else use one?

I love my slow cooker and use it all the time - at least 3 times a week. Brilliant for setting and leaving all day so that I come back from work to a cooked meal. I used to do a lot of casseroles in the oven and these are always done in the slow cooker now. Also great for soup
