Good Evening Girls
Boys its cold out there - just in from the shops - brrrrrrr.
Been working away on my wee seasonal colour works - will post picture tomorrow as I might have them finished tonight - they have been so easy to do.
Popped by my work today and put in some Avon books out in the staff facility - have put out 24 order forms, will check how they are going on Monday I will pop up there and see. I have also put an online brochure on my Facebook page too. Have a closing date of Friday so I can do the ordering next weekend and they will all get delivered after the 11th - so then I can distribute before Christmas.
Well off for a wee cuppa - not that hungry. Been trying not to fill the fridge as I had an awful one on Thursday/Friday. Thursday I notice the fridge is not cold and the temp gauge saying +14°c - yikes! So I phone the extra warranty people and they say its covered an engineer will be out on Monday. Friday I get a text to say they are cancelling - so I phone to see why and they say I have parts only. So I phone their head office to see why and the guy I spoke to there said I have parts and labour and he copied me into an email back to the repairers. They are now coming out Wednesday - just as well its cold and I am not filling the fridge too much. The freezer part is fine, but I am a bit concerned how they fix it as its built in.
Keep well everyone and warm - have some of my pumpkin pie I made for thanksgiving.
sweetcarer
PS We use dream topping as we can't get cool whip here and its a good substitute.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

My copy also arrived today. Better than last month's offering but nothing that makes me go wow. lots of possible projects I suppose. Bored of Forever friends. these designs are looking a little tired now. There was another FF design in another stitchy mag recently and I'm sure this one had been featured before so recycling designs.
I do like the glow in the dark threads advertised on page 27. might have to see if these are available over here. The Mr Men height chart kit also featured on this page is cool! I love Mr Men!
More cupcakes :rotfl: I think these designs are actually quite nice although I think I would leave off the letter.
The Woodland Folk design is cute but something doesn't sit right with it and the design that featured in Cross Stitch Collection recently was much more appealing. I think I would like them to be face on ? if that make sense?
Very odd to have such a big add for a kindle book on page 53...??
I think the subscriber page extra designs are for once something I might stitch - if only I had 48 hours in each day to stitch everything!0 -
right I'm gonna cosy up in bed and watch 'Nativity'. and stitch some Dinosaur ABC (no getting distracted by sorting threads etc tonight............ maybe get the kids to help me tomorrow.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

Here is my review of Cross Stitcher 260....
It was waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday...
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
None really. Have been disappointed so many times recently - hard to get excited.
FREE GIFT
Quite like these designs which look like they will stitch up quickly. Favourite design is probably the snowman. Don't like the charts being put on the back of the front cover however. Kit contents look ok - material doesn't look wonky ! but I'm cross that needle has been put in material. My biggest cross stitch bugbear!
ANGEL DELIGHT
Not sure about this but like the idea and perhaps could adapt for a different project? In summary, waste canvas is used to stitch on felt using 3 different bits of felt (which you then put together to get your tree hanging angel design).
CHRISTMAS IN THE BAG - PAGE 12
Like this idea and think will be adding this item to my christmas list (stitchable tote bag).
DECK THE HALLS
more xmas tree craft projects (xmas tree baubles) using blue themed threads (dmc white,518,519,3761,3811 and E168 (light effects) on white aida. described as scandi inspired baubles. not keen.
HOME CUSHION
a design by Kate McDonnell. Reminds me of the Emily Peacock designs. Not sure about this. LIke the idea - expect I would use different colours and perhaps a different coloured aida (rather than white)
ALPHABET SOUP
These are really cool and I really like them. In summary it it the letters of the alphabet stitched on plastic canvas. each letter is animal themed. (s looks like a snake) (c looks like a caterpillar)
GREAT SCOTT
Scottie dog cushion featuring two scottie dogs - one in black with a red coat, yellow collar and a white scottie dog with a blue collar. Not my cup of tea.
ELECTRIC DREAMS
According to the blurb - funky festive sampler...
Not sure I would stitch the 4 designs (baubel, xmas tree, present, stocking) as shown but might stitch them individually. Think they need a bit of a kick to them so perhaps would incorporate some metallic thread
STICK IT UP YOUR JUMPER
This is quite interesting. remember those books you used to be able to buy where you would have naked people to cut out with lots of clothes and bits and bobs to cut out too and stick over them. well this is the cross stitch version! lots of xmas jumpers !! (well 6!)
IPAD COVER
Like the pattern (zig zags) but not sure on the colour scheme and think I would use my own colours. might be a project to do for my ipod touch since i don['t own a ipad :rotfl:
BUILD A SNOWMAN
I love snowmen designs so this really appeals. One snowman with black cat, robins and trees, the other design, just a snowman. both really cute and very stitchable. love the idea of stitching the robins for gift tags :T
SPREAD YOUR WINGS ANGEL CUSHION
dreamy cushion deisgn featuring two angels wings on rustic linen cream. not my cup of tea. won't be stitching.
CRAZU ATCHWORK
COOL ARTICLE!
PLAID AND SIMPLE
seasonal tartan design xmas cards. bit like marmite these ones. not sure if i like or dislike! they do seem a bit bare.
NEXT MONTH
nothing appeals !0 -
decided to post my review of cross stitcher above while OH watches his Stewart Lee dvd (last year's xmas present). I really don't find him funny.
LOUISE
I meant to say that when I was looking at Cross Stitch Crazy earlier, I couldn't see any details of our lovely cafe on the Cross Stitch Club pages. I know they featured us as club of the month but I haven't been paying attention - was that it ?
It continues to rain here and its getting a bit silly now. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. xxx0 -
Goodness me it has been quite in the Cafe today. Has it been christmas shopping or stitching for you today??
Well Caroline planted the seed to have a bit of a sort out/tidy up - so I started with my wardrobe and ended with ...........my wardrobebut I have made a start.
Worked out the wording to go on Boofle for 12.12.12 so that will be it finished then. Started some of the backstitch on MP Cottage last night and just felt frustrated with it (doesn't normally bother me too much) but there is plenty of time as its for 20.12.2012.
Can't decide on what to do tonight apart from Strictly and XFactor Results. Having Lemon Chicken Risotto for tea tonight.
Hope you've all had a productive day.

Yes it has been very quiet today. I've been busy keeping my eye on the Am@zon black frid@y de@ls. I have bought a couple of things (handbag and a book set). not that I need anything .... and if you have seen my recent post on my debt free diary then you should be telling me off !
I haven't done any stitching yet today but I have sorted the threads for the snowman project featured in this month's cross stitcher (the one featuring the black cat). I'm thinking I'm going to stitch on blue Pearl flecked aida. If you see this mag/the design (its on page 60 and 61 of Cross Stitcher Mag December 2012 - issue 260). let me know if you think my choice of material is a good one ? I don't think I want to stitch on evenweave and don't think I have any other blue aida ? I don't really want to be buying more.... the blue pearl aida I have is a light blue and I think will work...0 -
I know tisn't stitchy related but I also know we love our books..........be VERY wary of used book sellers on Amazon.
I don't know if it's always been the case and I've never noticed but now a lot of the used book sellers stated "ships from USA 2-3 weeks wait for delivery". I know at the end of the day cheap is cheap but I like things pretty quickly when I order.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
