  • No stitching for me tonight but I have put the threads of my completed project back into my thread box and generally had a bit of a sort out of them. I have been sorting some of my upcoming projects out and keeping the charts/fabric and thread in the Ikea plastic bags and it seems to be working.

Boofle is coming along well. Might make a start on MP Cottage tomorrow.

Thanks for comments on 10/11/12. You're right Maria - I'm fortunate that DH is handy with the framing - I would make a right pig's ear of it all. :o

    Have a good weekend everyone,

I'm up far too early for a Sunday :( (alarm for OH went off about 6am ) I had a poor night's sleep (thanks cat) and I've decided against trying to lay in as dearest other half is off out today (hence early alarm call). I doubt I shall go back to bed when he has left but suspect I may snooze on the sofa this afternoon.

Feeling a bit fed up as the last few weekends for my OH have been really busy and I haven't seen much of him. :(

Anyhow. Stitched one square yesterday of my dmc colour sampler and outlined it in 310 black satin thread. not sure now though on reflecting this morning and looking at my stitched sample, whether I want to stitch in 3 strands? thoughts ?? also at the moment stitching with a HUGE piece of material as too scared at cutting to size in case I get it wrong. I'm thinking of stitching 40 squares across (7 by 7 boxes) with one column gap. That to my reckoning makes 11 rows of 40 squares and 1 row of 25 squares.

underneath the square of colour, I shall be writing the thread number - I need 2 squares for that plus a row left empty above and below. so 9 squares across x 11 down.

off to fathom the maths ..... to see how much aida I need and hopefully be brave and cut to size.

edited to add -think I'm going to do 15 rows of 30 coloured squares. and 1 row of 15 coloured squares !
  • Hi everyone!

Thanks for the welcome! Am going out this morning to buy my threads for my Matt Smith cross stitch so I can start it today. Am really excited and looking forward to seeing how it comes out. I'm looking at everyone's work and it's so amazing. Wish I had time to do all those things.

tis the season really does look fab.:T

found out why my stitchy shop struggled to sort my silk out she said shed never heard of black gold by that mumber D310 and said they must mean antique black that has a glistening shimmer so sold me E310 instead, ive been working on the cloak last nght but wasnt convinced so ive googled and found the site saying that a mistake was made and the black gold should have been D140, im just going to carry on with what ive done now and use the clour ive been sold. just putting this incase others who havent yet bought theirs needed the number.

hope everyone has a lovely stitchy weekend
how did the 10/11/12 projects go? did they all get finished or started on time.

Yesterday was a success, aside from a trip to sainzbreeze, I managed to do the sum total of nothing, except stitch and find my passport.

Somehow, it'd snuck into the car.. still don't really care how it got there and I am going to blame the mogs :)

I think I shall do just the same today, minus shopping and passport hunting :)

Have a good day all xx

I've lost my cross stitch mojo for quite some time:o but I have finally finished this box, which has fabric sides and cross stitch fronts.

  • Hi!

Well I managed to get most of the threads I needed but they were out of two colours I needed. Will start without those for now, hope it doesn't hold me up to much.
