Cross Stitch Cafe - stitching out of 2012 and into 2013...

The great thing about it once it's charted is that it's easy to just leave a gap for any colours you don't have.
Can I ask where you dowloaded an up to date chart please?
FOS - My plan for it is just as a display piece, to commemorate my favourite hobby
Who'yi calling odd???
Okay...I agree:rotfl:
I stitched him last month :T is it the celeb stitch version from a magazine?
Hi!
Yes it is. Am really looking forward to stitching it

Casper - welcome to the Cafe. Looking forward to seeing your updates of Matt.
catwoman - did you manage any purchases at HC. The last couple of visits for me have been a bit disappointing
No stitching tonight as we haven't been in that long. Only got a few teeny weeny bits to do on Tis The Season and I have sweethearted :smileyhea DH who has said he will try and frame it for me tomorrow. If this happens I will post a piccy.
Had been hoping to start making up xmas card this weekend but we will just have to wait and see.

Well, I tried to do some prep for stitching tonight, but Blossom had other ideas.
I was choosing charts to stitch in my snowflake tree hangers. Narrowed it down to half a dozen & wanted hubby to give me his opinion, but as soon as I opened the magazine, Blossom clambered on it & sat down. She ended up there for quite a while-until some noisy fireworks disturbed her & she got off. So, now I can see the charts, I'm going to stitch a Christmas pudding & a cartoony reindeer head. Will post pics when they're done.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks for the reminder about 10/11/12 I am doing The Stitcher's 12 Days of Christmas by Sue Hillis. I have cut out the fabric (white opalescent Cashel linen) though not sorted the threads but I am confident I will be able to start on schedule. I would also like to finish Stitch a Star tomorrow so that I can date it but haven't had much stitchy time this week due to working late and we are out tonight. So may try to finish that and just do a couple of stitches on the main project (after all I have over a year to complete it - I am planning to do a section per month
I'm stitching mine on white opalescent fabric too. Aida this time, though. Been a while since I stitched anything large on aida.
I plan to stitch a letter every two weeks. That should work out about right.The_Dragon wrote: »Hmm I am not sure if I am starting something tomorrow as I have three unfinished crochet projects already and adding a 4th into the mix .........:D
Not enough hours in the day, are there???pffff just seen sew n so ran a competition today - spend over £20, order by 4pm, get put in a draw to get your order for free. #annoyed
They didn't even tweet about that offer. What's the point of being on twitter if you don't tell your customers about things like that?Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Oh ok
I got married on 03/05/07. And apologies, morbid alert, my husband died last year on 20/11/2011.
Can't believe it's nearly a year.
SORRY! X (hope I haven't put a downer on the thread)
Sorry to hear about your husband. Stitching does help you get through tough times, though, doesn't it?Mrs mp I'm just stitching felt together for mini stockings to hang on the tree with treats in. What I really want is a pattern for an elf outfit for a dolly...
Hmmm...I've seen cross stitched elves in mags today, but I'm guessing you want a sewing pattern? An elf might not be too difficult to figure out. Never made an outfit before, but there's a sewing thread on here that might be able to help more.blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Evening all

Speaking of frames, I was recommended a framers today that sounds quite reasonable, so might try and get A Good Marriage framed up.
Thanks for all the get well wishes, everyone. Feeling a lot better tonight. Used the inhaler a bit, but breathing so much easier than last night.
Hubby has to go into town tomorrow to collect his wedding ring (had to get resized-it was falling off. He's gone down 5 ring sizes!) and as much as I'd like to go shopping with him, I'm not going to push myself. I'll stay in and get started on my stitching instead.

Bossymoo Sorry to hear that, hugs
Ooo I went to HC today, I dont go very often so while I was near I thought I would have a look. They have a 50% off some Gold collection kits there and 20% off the rest of their cross stitch kits. Thought it was worth posting. It might help someone if it nationwide.
Thanks for this, I'm off to HC tomorrow for some card so I'll have a look
Haven't been on for a few days, hugs to all who need them.
I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, have had some sort of virus for a couple of days and then a really bad toothache. So today I had to go to the dentist and ended up having a root canalI am a bit proud of myself cause I have a terrible phobia of dentists and needles and I managed to let him do what was needed. I am still a bit sore though, feel like I've been punched in the face and then stabbed with a load of pins, yuck! That's what happens when you don't go to the dentist for 16 years! And I got to pay 200 pounds for the privelege :rotfl:
I've done a few bits n pieces over the last week;
Backed all my mill hill ornaments with the felt I bought at the craft show;

Lovely finishes, sk00bie1. Did you glue the felt to the back of the Mill Hill hangers?
Sorry about your root canal, but well done for getting it done. I think £200, you got off lightly. I've heard of them costing a LOT more than that. Take some painkillers and try and sleep it off. Sending hugs.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks guys, I've just taken some nice strong painkillers, hoping they kick in soon!
Not looking forward to going back next week to finish it off. And then will have to arrange a check up for the rest of my teeth  Oh well should have gone before now I guess.
And yes ruth_honey I used fabric glue to stick the felt on to the back of the stitching. Used it quite liberally to add a bit of strength and then touched up the edges with UHU, where the felt was touching the paper, not stitches.
Can't get my signature to change, it keeps displaying it as html and then telling me I've got too many characters , might give up and try tomorrow :PCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
