Feeling better today, thanks. Husband insisted that we call the out of hours GP last night as the breathlessness had come on so quickly. Usually I have a day of bad coughing first, but this was sudden. Only started feeling poorly on Tuesday, and wasn't coughing that much. Anyway, they ran through their questions and decided I needed an emergency ambulance, so they turned up and did tests. Oxygen levels were very good-which surprised me-so they thought it was an issue with my upper chest. Took me to the hospital (that's 4 visits in a month now! I'm sick of that place) and waited to see a Dr in the walk in clinic. He gave me antibiotics and inhalers. They seem to be helping already, which is good. Then when I got home, hubby made me a lemon & ginger tea. I managed to spill about 1/3 of the mug down myself when it was still very hot & burnt my boobs! Put a cold, wet flannel on it, then aloe vera gel before bed and it looks ok today, but ow, did it hurt last night!!!

Realised that tomorrow it's the 10/11/12, so if you're starting a new project, make sure all the bits are ready to go. I'm going to do the Christmas ABC, so I'll prep it tonight & make sure it's all ready to go. Ooooh, new fabric to play with...:j

    Ouch:eek:

Thanks for the reminder about 10/11/12 I am doing The Stitcher's 12 Days of Christmas by Sue Hillis. I have cut out the fabric (white opalescent Cashel linen) though not sorted the threads but I am confident I will be able to start on schedule. I would also like to finish Stitch a Star tomorrow so that I can date it but haven't had much stitchy time this week due to working late and we are out tonight. So may try to finish that and just do a couple of stitches on the main project (after all I have over a year to complete it - I am planning to do a section per month

  • Ruth_honey - hope your meds are working and that you're feeling a bit better today. Your little accident sounds really painful. Thanks for the reminder of the special date tomorrow. Just finishing off LK 'Tis the Season' so dating that 10.11.12 and my 10.11.12 to 11.12.13 is Margaret Sherry's 12 Day's of Xmas - I might only get a chance to cut the aida to the right size tomorrow - hope that still counts as making a start :D.

bossymoo - love your little stitch. They look so cute.

fos - white opalescent Cashel linen sounds lovely. I'm boring and tend to stick with aida. I was planning to stitch a section a month too on my 12 days. Wonder how long it will take before we go off plan :D

Hope you all manage some stitching this weekend.

Thanks very much - thats really helpful :T:D:T:j:beer:

PS I'm guessing 14 count white aida and how much material?? how many colour squares would you stitch across/down since there are a mere 465 threads to fit??!!

Sounds really intresting all this talk - thinking of trying something but don't have all the threads so will might try a bit of it a time - need to sit down and plan it all out too. I have downloaded DMC colour charts so thats a start.

Forgive my ignorance, I get the date is sequential, but what significance does that hold if you are starting a new project?

  • I don't think there's anything more to it than the date really

There are three good ones this year ya see, 10/11/12, 12/12/12 & 20/12/2012

    And we're... well a bit odd :)

    Oh ok :D

I got married on 03/05/07. And apologies, morbid alert, my husband died last year on 20/11/2011.

    Can't believe it's nearly a year.

SORRY! X (hope I haven't put a downer on the thread)
