    Hi ladies.

    Mags. Nice update.

Georgia. Nice progress pic, look forward to seeing it grow.

    off topic,

    Hello Blossom! :D

Not tried Dreamies here but Lily loves the Felix treats (whatever they are called) Got them as a free sample in boxes of Felix a while ago and she can't get enough of them.
Pixie bought some of the Whiskas ones with her yesterday but neither of them seem particularly bothered about those.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

    Aren't cats picky? Lol!

JCS1-thanks for that. I'll let my other cat owner friends know. I've got almost 4 bags of Dreamies in her box now, so think that will keep Blossom going for a bit. She has to earn her treats. ;)

Going to try Hobbycraft again today. Hopefully I'll find something nice to treat myself to this time.

Not feeling too great the past few days. Got a cold & I've reached the coughing stage now. Leaves me feeling so out of breath. Hope this time it doesn't turn into a chest infection. I could do without that.

Mags_cat - great progress with HAED. Hiding it from DH cos he loves it (I do too) and it might just get added to my 'to do' list. :D The dmc colours pic is very pretty but I prefer the bag with the numbers.

georgia - can see it now and its looking great. Looking forward to next update.

Ruth_honey - hope you manage to find a treat at HC today and that you feel better soon.

    Pop back later.

On the topic of Dreamies. My cats LOVE them too! They have been known to rip a new packet open to get to the scrummy treats lol.

Didn't make it to Hobbycraft. :( Had lunch with a friend, then started walking through the town centre and was getting so breathless that I decided to get the bus home. Really should go to Drs, but they close at lunchtime on Thursday's. Hoping lemsips & rest will help.

hope you are feeling better soon Ruth Honey - have a hug :grouphug:

on the subject of cats, my cat loves his food but is fussy and will turn his nose up when it suits him and scoff the same food another day  He likes the treat biscuits too and often has a few as a bedtime treat - usuually when I go up to bed so sometimes he follows me up and then is miffed when I return downstairs ! I recently bought what I thought were treat sticks but they were actually lickity lick (tasty yogurty treats!):rotfl: my cat wasn't very impressed - it got eaten though - I suspect by our visitor cat.

I'm still thinking of stitching the complete set of dmc threads (and anchor too!) obviously a long term project since I don't have all the threads (certainly for anchor) but I have the following questions....

    1. Square of colour with thread number below / to the right / left?

    2. how big should the square of colour be ? I think 20x20 squares is too much.... I don't want to get bored and would like to be able to get all the colours on one piece of aida. 10x10squares possibly too much also? welcome suggestions?

    3. Grid out boxes first and then stitch the colours inside or outline the colour swatches afterwards - can never remember if trying to stitch inside (the backstitch) will mean the backstitch will get distorted (hope this makes sense!)

    4. gap between the colours or stitch each colour alongside each other (with the outline/backstitch)

    would welcome thoughts/suggestions.

oh and who was it that stitched the Happy Happy House design - does it really take the 35 hours the mag indicates?

I would prefer right, left would be close behind, but definitely not below

    2. how big should the square of colour be ? I think 20x20 squares is too much.... I don't want to get bored and would like to be able to get all the colours on one piece of aida. 10x10squares possibly too much also? welcome suggestions?

On aida, I think 6x6 squares would be big enough, since there are so many of them. It would have to be an even number as I would make the numbers 2 squares high, and I wouls wnt them to sit exactly in the middle.

    3. Grid out boxes first and then stitch the colours inside or outline the colour swatches afterwards - can never remember if trying to stitch inside (the backstitch) will mean the backstitch will get distorted (hope this makes sense!)

Colour first, then backstitch. It would definitely get distorted.

    4. gap between the colours or stitch each colour alongside each other (with the outline/backstitch)

Personally, I would have a 1 or 2 square gap between each one

    would welcome thoughts/suggestions.

I have entered my thoughts in red, but that's just me.

I'm going to use my fabric pen and draw a rough idea of what I'm thinking

Thanks very much - thats really helpful :T:D:T:j:beer:

PS I'm guessing 14 count white aida and how much material?? how many colour squares would you stitch across/down since there are a mere 465 threads to fit??!!
