MrsF49 - thanks for the details re Cross Stitch Crazy, this isn't a magazine that I'm familiar with.

I did buy this cross stitch kit earlier in the year. 004649_25.jpgMay see how this would convert to a cushion or may just try to stitch it as it is but not for this Christmas I don't have the time.

Ailsb: I wasn't familiar with CSCrazy either!! Just the only mag I found that happened to have pictures of Westies that didn't look 'odd'!! They are at my parents in the UK so I can 't even send you a photo of the covers to see if that's the sort of thing you're after. When I'm back, remind me and then I send you the photos. They may be of some use to you for future pressies - I'll not get to stitch them all (there's even a Westie alphabet in one of them!).

I have scanned through the ones at sewandso though - and they have one I've been keeping an eye on at StitchetyWitchety: http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Westie-Tapestry-Cushion-Front__ANC-ALR36.aspx - an Anchor one, which I love - but I suppose it depends on whether the deep red would match the decor or not! Perhaps I should put it on my Xmas 2013 list for when we should be back in the UK. :j

MrsF49 - the Westie alphabet sounds great. If you get chance when back in the UK i'd be very grateful. definately going to wait until Thursday before deciding what to do about cushion.

Louise - chocs look good. I almost took a table at my local library so that I could sell some stuff but when I checked the date it's the only Friday that I am working and have worked for the last 12 months. Obviouslt wasn't meant to do it. Will keep an eye out for other dates though.

Off to bed now, have a good day tomorrow (or should I say later today) everyone. I'm at work then out doing a trial scuba dive session in the evening so no stitching for me.

  • Louise - those decorations look too lovely to eat. :D

Ailsb - hope you enjoy your scuba diving session.

No stitching at all for two days  - must make time later day as I'm busy this morning (washer is already humming away). I also need to start making some of the cards up - leave it until I have a few to do to justify getting the bits and bobs out.

    Have a good day everyone

Well I think that I have sorted when my subs run out of WOCS
I have looked back at the email that I got sent and found out that I was trying to login into a different website DOH
I have one copy left, so I think that payment may come out after that. I may see if they have an offer on before I renew my subs.

  • Morning All,

I had a nice stitchy session last might while catching up on Downton.

Can't decide which card to send for the exchange so can't post pic of any of them.

Louise - Those decorations look amazing. Hope the chocolate can be retrieve without destroying all the hardwork. What are they made from?

Georgina - The Cross Stitcher's Bible by Jane Greenoff is a great book that I often refer back to.

I seem to be the only one who enjoys french knots:D My Grandmother (now passed) Taught me how to stitch over the top. One Christmas she bought hankies (in the days when people still used cotton hankies) with a design drawn on them that she showed me how to stitch over the top. There were lots of french knots and it took me ages to get the hang of them. I gave one of the embroidered hankies to my primary school teacher at Christmas:). I recently got a refresher course on the Joyful snowmen where there were loads at the end.

Have a quick question for those who subcribe to WOCS. I signed up for the 5 issues for a £5 back in Feb. They took the first payment out £5 and then later on in the year they took another payment in about june/july.

My question is : Does anyone know when the next payment is due to come out? I know it might be a long shot as everyone might have different payment dates.

I have tried to login to their website but I keep getting an error message.

I had a payment to Origin taken in late October which I think was for WOXS (rather than cross stitch crazy - different bank account).

I also have had problems logging on to check my subscription - I subscribe to 3 origin mags and have never been able to get them to display or to be able to link them all up. I don't know why. Despite my username and password being correct, it doesn't seem to like me :rotfl:

I've been trying to avoid swiching my computer on in the evenings but last night I was too tired to stitch either. dozed on the sofa then of course when I went up to bed - I couldn't sleep :(

    Hi ladies.

Louise. Love the tree decs, very nice.

Yes sweetcarer, you read correctly, hubby persuaded me :D
Thanks for the comments ladies, we collected her at lunch time and already she is settling in brilliantly. She is not at all nervous but is very inquisitive/nosey.
We introduced her to Lily and that went ok. Lily hissed a bit and kept out of her way and Pixie pretty much ignored Lily and wandered around without a care in the world.
Have seperated them for a bit now as it got a bit much for Lily and she took a swipe at hubby. Will put them together little and often and keep fingers crossed.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
