Cross Stitch Cafe - stitching out of 2012 and into 2013...

Chicky - I like the idea of doing a Christmas design to finish 12.12.12. I've never done one but would anyone be interested in (apologies that I don't know the correct term) but one of the stitch things where you swap your finished piece with someone else at the end? Not sure how people feel about this as it does add additional pressure to the stitching.
A round robin?
Tbh I have always wondered how I have managed to be in the cafe for 3+ years without anyone coming up with that idea before now :rotfl:
We could always mix the two ideas - go for the large piece of fabric but do Christmas card sized squares, because it is a little late in the year to be starting a larger one. I reckon we would have to have 2-week 'stitch n swop' deadlines if we wanted to do one this year.
Or we could leave the round robin for the new year? One month swop deadlines instead? And individual themes?

I think maybe leave it till the new year and start a round robin then. Think it would be really pressured to get anything done in two weeks as so many are stitching for various events and presents...
What designs would we do....everyone doing the same one, or all different but the same theme, or all totally different...;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
I agree leave the round robin till next year, I have a zillions things I need to finish before Xmas but I would defiantly be up for a Xmas card exchange13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

Opinions needed please. Don't worry - my craft fair is next week so this should be the last time I mention it!!
i'd go with others on here - have a folder of your work.
offer to take orders - but take a deposit (say 1/3 of total?).flowerofscotland wrote: »I love the idea of a group challenge to finish stitching a Christmas piece on 12 12 12. Not sure we would get agreement on a single design but if everyone could choose their own design it would be lovely to see progress. And if anyone other than me has any Christmas themed UFOs then this could be just the incentive for us to finish this year............... goes off to look through UFO stash.......
ohhh i've still got the one from littlestar stitches not finished. might take that on my hols.caroline78 wrote: »So far three names for the Christmas Card exchange....

count me in.
i think the reason we've not done it is because it'sto share info on MSE+ after the last disaster no-ones been in the mood to try again........... but we all know what we say to the rules
However with the flikr group/ fb group/ email availability we can easily do it without posting a murmer on here.
we NEARLY got married on 07.07.07 but as I was teacching (well i wasn't in the end ....... long story.....) we couldn't so had to settle for the 27th (or was it 28th?).loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

We will each stitch a card and post it by a certain date. Everyone will receive one card from someone else.
A round robin is where a set number of people all pick a design and then post it onto each other to stitch on. You will always post to the same person, and then they stitch a bit and post on to the next person. It works its way round the chain and eventually ends up back with you...subtle_minx wrote: »Count me in for the card exchange (i think) though not too good at exchanges recently, I've still not started the one due in oct. just feel tired and lost my stitchy mojo...
