Well it has started to pixilate on certain recordings.

Why not get it repaired by Digifix in Buxton, or other company offering this service?

Could do but can get a refurb for £30 or engineer call out for £15. Surely that would be better? I'm thinking £89 for a brand new box ain't that bad really

Do make sure your problem is not with the dish or cabling first.

Thanks I will. I rang sky back tonight and asked about 20% the basic package. They've already changed their tune and will now only offer 20% off the tv package as oppose the whole package. I've told them to stick it for the mo.

I also asked about paying for the recording facility and using the old box as a free view. They told me it wasn't possible unless I had a subscription of sorts. I always thought you could pay £10 a month for the record only facility?
  • Cancel the full lot then keep checking emails you will get one saying "where did we go wrong" its a questionaire ,fill it in the first one says something like would you recommend us to friends or was you happy put 1 for that as a score then fill the rest.

Within a few days some one will ring you asking why and say everyone you know is getting really good deals etc and you are having to pay for a new box and £15 for someone to come out and only offered 20%.
They will give you a new free box and offer a better deal
  • Why do you want a new box?

What advantages does having a Sky subscription actually benefit you and your family?
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Because the one I have is two years old and the image pixilates
  • I may be wrong but I'm sure I've read somewhere that when you have left sky for a period of 3 months you may then be eligible as a new customer and could take advantage of the new customer deals. If this is true, then my advice would be to wait and then take out a new contract.

    HTH?

I'm afraid you don't qualify as a "new" customer after only three months...

That's not very old at all.
I agree with the earlier poster who suggested your fault may be dish misalignment rather than your decoder.
Sky boxes are normally far more reliable than that.
