  • I can be so anally retentive about this that I also colour code lunch ideas, suppers, veggie, fish, etc, etc, etc...
I hope I haven't put you off - but I love this system....

Damn I just decided to do this, and coloured index cards are on my shopping list. I thought i had come up with a brilliant idea all by myself and now i learn that other people have been as anal as me for years!

I feel like i have worked hard, but i have sat down once the baby went to bed, although that was at 8, and then we had to eat dinner, and we have watched a DVD rental we have had for over a week while i have done some surveys and things on the internet.

I'm going to be in bed fairly soon, and then i think it will have to be a fresh start tomorrow. Hopefully a good nights sleep and i will feel less tired than today.

  • Update from earlier post. I had gas man here and need 2 valves for boiler. Hopefully this will fix the problems I have been having. DS is having a friend over tonight (his first sleepover ) so major excitement. Had them and DD working in garden earlier so should sleep well. Cleared loads of muck from garden today and have painted half of the fence. Looks smashing. I spent most of last summer sorting out front garden and it hardly needs anyhing doing to it this year so my project this year is to sort out the rear garden. Did some of it last year but want to finish it off once and for all. Then I can actually relax and enjoy it perhaps?? Tidied kitchen again and lounge. Cooked stew in slow cooker mmmmmmmmm!!!!!! Think that is all. Whacked now so going to bed after I eat a cream egg

    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.

My DH is going to be so happy about this - he is convinced he married the only one like me and is destined to bear this cross alone! :rotfl:
Either that or he will be very very afraid.......
    Is it home time yet?

I use this system too - except that I write on each card a meal/recipe that we have really liked, with the recipe book page # or web reference - or even the actual recipe if it is from a pal or newspaper/magazine - and then I use the dividers of the little box file relabeled Monday - Sunday to meal plan. I can be so anally retentive about this that I also colour code lunch ideas, suppers, veggie, fish, etc, etc, etc...
I hope I haven't put you off - but I love this system....

I wanted to buy some coloured index cards too for that very reason, but couldn't find today.
Thanks for the tip about writing the recipe page/web reference on though, that should prove very useful!
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.
