Well... even when I was little my brother and I weren't allowed food or drink in the living room so my parents' chairs (didn't have a sofa) stayed in pretty good condition! At the time it seemed REALLY annoying, but it must have saved my parents (Dad did most of the cleaning) a heck of a lot of time and effort!
  • Finally called the doctors to make an appointment for a smear test - yuck hate those, I've been putting it off for the past couple of weeks since they sent me the reminder letter. They managed to get me back to back appointments as I need to see the doctor as well, so that's cool. Perhaps not so cool that it's on friday 13th !!

Was chatting online to the BF and got him to put washing in the machine :) That'll teach him to be home from work early.

Damn I just decided to do this, and coloured index cards are on my shopping list. I thought i had come up with a brilliant idea all by myself and now i learn that other people have been as anal as me for years!

My husband has always organised everything like this. Now he is at work full time and I am at home I find I am doing the same thing, setting up filing systems for things, my recipes are in files but I think a colour coded card system is a brilliant idea. DH used to annoy me so much with his anally retentive ways, and now I am enjoying it. Is it catching?

Hi everyone, welcome miniloopie! Major confession, I've only just started the kitchen! Dailies done this morning, went for a walk with kids and dogs and felt rotten all the way round the woods, can't remember most of it and were there about 2 hours. Came back and spent most of the afternoon in bed :o I'm not usually the ill type, just tend to get on with it but this colds made me feel rotten.

I've had to get up as DP has gone out, so pleased he's off during day at times like this. He's took DS2 with him so just one to watch, who is being a terror! Have made a start on kitchen, started to feel dizzy and sweating again, so have come on here to make myself sit down. It needs desperately doing now of course, DP did remember to feed the kids but kitchens a tip, can't have it all I suppose!

Nicki where I used to live did that sometimes to reduce fly tipping, worked wonders but no chance where I live now. Saying that the skip used to also be raided by others which is great for recycling :rotfl:

Right off for an tinternet mooch then back to work. I'll post tomorrows list in a bit too.
One day I might be more organised...........

Rach have you tried scrap yards ? I paid £20 for an electric one for a friends car recently. Can work out much cheaper. Search for salvage/vehicle dismantlers on https://www.yell.co.uk in your area should come up with loads. But good news about the teeth, think all mine are gone now, every time one came in I got abcess from hell so dentist just kept pulling them out.

I was raring to go with todays jobs after getting caught up yesterday but I've no hot water (ah the excuses I can find..) So while I'm waiting for some I've done my first ever 27 fling boogie. That WAS scarey but I'll resist the temptation to fling it all back.
Going to check out the stardrops thread to see how this novice can show the kitchen who's boss.
Hope all the poorly people get better soon if I don't return today.

Solwaykid, thanks, I hope I feel better soon too it's actually getting on my nerves at the minute, 27 fling of tissues grrr, kitchens getting there, in the middle of sit downs. DPs actually been nice and called to see if I was ok, or was it because he wanted me to check on something on eBay for him !!! Got my eye on a few table cloths but can't find a tape measure so will have to wait. Some nice wipe clean ones on eBay which look good.

Right Wednesdays lists up, another switch :D keep you all on your toes

Going to make DS1 his warm drink and try to get him shuffled off to bed so I can finish the kitchen, might have one myself too, a lot left to do still, apart from vacuum which was done this morning so will just sweep it over. Laundry mountains back as it's rained here most of the day, walk in woods when it's raining makes more laundry too especially when DS2 fell over about a dozen times wish he could stay on his feet, oh must remember to clean the boots etc too.
