CPS (aka Perky) suspended from DVLA Data Access

Combined Parking Solutions have been putting up signs in car parks, stating that the Registered Keeper is responsible for payment.
Following complaints to the DVLA by certain parties, the DVLA have now confirmed suspension of CPS's access to registered keeper details. (Ironically, just before RK liabilty kicks in on 01/10).
As responsible campaigners, I believe we should always be magnanimous in both victory and defeat, and I wouldn't like to see any gloating on this thread.
If anyone is in the Bilston area, and sees a sad-looking slightly overweight individual unscrewing parking signs, please take pity and buy him a cup of tea and a pie.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Following complaints to the DVLA by certain parties...
Who they LOL?!As responsible campaigners, I believe we should always be magnanimous in both victory and defeat, and I wouldn't like to see any gloating on this thread.
Nope, definitely not, gloating is so undignified.

I thought Perky was a legal expert (at least that's what he appears to believe in his own tiny mind). Clearly the DVLA/BPA think he is as much a prat as we do. No doubt he will be somewhere (probably trolling/lurking on here) fuming about the injustice of it all, when the fact is that he has tried to be a little too clever and come a cropper. I wouldn't want any of the above to be seen as gloating but it is very ironic that Perky should be the subject of this sanction.
But fair play to the DVLA for finally taking a stand and long may it continue. Despite the longstanding suspicion that it had allowed itself to be captured by the BPA, it may be that it is finally prepared to do the right thing and protect motorists' details as they should be protected. Time will tell whether this is a one off or a change of approach.0 -
Aw, bless.
So, Rumpole of Solihull has come unstuck on a legal issue, I'm sure he'll get it overturned at the Old Bailey very very soon.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Perhaps "certain parties" should now contact CPS' clients and point out to them that their hired watchdog is now in intensive care and no longer able to perform its duties?
As for gloating, some people just ask for it:

Combined Parking Solutions is pleased to congratulate Mike Perkins, Operations and Strategy manager on becoming a board member within the AOS (Approved Operator Scheme) at the BPA (British Parking Association).
The Board provides guidance and advice to enable the Approved Operator Scheme to achieve its Vision: “The Become recognised as the leading authority on parking enforcement on private land and in unregulated car parks, working to raise standards of performance for the good of operators and motorists alike”

Suspension, but for how long, and on what conditions?Following complaints to the DVLA by certain parties, the DVLA have now confirmed suspension of CPS's access to registered keeper details. (Ironically, just before RK liabilty kicks in on 01/10).
As we know, it just means that they'll save up all their keeper requests until the suspension is rescinded, at which point, in they all go.0 -
We've only got the message today from DVLA. They have been asked to confirm the length of suspension, and the steps they intend to take to ensure that no data will be subsequently issued for incidents occurring during the suspension period.The_Slithy_Tove wrote: »Suspension, but for how long, and on what conditions?

Just saw this gem from the Combined Parking Solutions website:
"Parking tickets and charges, especially those issued on private land are hot topics for debate often fuelled by armchair lawyers who use various media such as the internet as their soapbox – As with many aspects of the internet this advice is very often ill founded and the people giving it are not legally qualified in any way and very often hide behind aliases and appear on many forums under multiple identities."
Recognise anyone there? I doubt Perky could describe himself better - an idiot who is apparently not even up to the task of wording his signs to comply with the CoP.0 -
This is great news! Especially if the DVLA take steps to stop a repeat of the OPC situation where we all know they just saved up their fake PCNs whilst they were suspended for a month and then bunged a thousand of them through.
Not sure how the DVLA reckon they can stop them. But the DVLA are the gatekeepers of our data (LOL!) and they must attempt to do so.
Sorry to see some deluded PPCs voted you-know-who onto the AOS board but really it's surely only a matter of time before his true colours show.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
