All geared up for a legal fight....as long as you don't have to write a letter you mean?

Why not just do as you are supposed to do and request a refund in writing, giving them 30 days, then write a formal complaint giving them 8 weeks then use the FOS to do what they are there to do and instruct the company to refund you?

All this "I'm going to fight them on the beaches" may sound all stiff upper lip but if you simply won't do what you are supposed to do, stop waffling and admit you have been suckered.
  • This is utter lies from this company, 1 off fee, i,ve been charged £67.80??? and £1.95 before this, total scammers, i am addressing my letter to Loans Direct (aka SCAMMERS)!!!!

As long as it is an actual letter sent as per their T&C then you might get a response.

They've not actually scammed you, they've taken payment for the service that you signed up for when you used their site.
  • Hi all,

I have just signed up to loans direct uk today in a mad panic to get a loan in which i have now reconsidered and decided not to do. However, I am now signed up to loans direct and do not want to pay the membership fee, I have fired off a quick email stating this fact. They cannot take it from my bank as there is nothing in it and will not be till im paid on friday.

What do you suggest i do? Do i contact my bank?

    Thanks in advance x

As per their terms and conditions, why not write them a letter, requesting a refund?

It's a radical idea, I know, and I'm surprised that no-one else has thought to suggest it with this company.
  • My worry is that they will still try and take money out before they have the letter...

My worry is that they will still try and take money out before they have the letter...

And then when they get your letter they will refund it.

Your bank won't be able to help you unless you follow the firms T&Cs for getting a refund and they don't pay up - then you can put in a claim with the bank.

At the moment the payment is authorised as you agreed to their T&Cs when you signed up with them.
  • I feel I should pay it as punishment for my own foolishness but I will send in a letter referring to their Ts and Cs.

As much as its my fault I have a real moral objection with this company and would like to see it destroyed, anyway of going about this?

Raise a complaint with the financial ombudsmen service , if the fos get enough it will go to the fca who will then look at the company itself.
  • Update on the situation.

I sent my letter in and it was received by them on the 18th September as i called to check. The woman said a member of management must talk to me first before the account is cancelled and they are yet to call me.

Today i had the £60 fee taken out of my account on a day i really need it, not sure what to do...?
