Ah, I assumed we were talking about Loans Direct UK, whose T&C (well, Terms) are here:

    Hi Snoowtiger.

    I am talking about LoansdirectUK.

I got so excited there too.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

Lots of companies, many with similar names.

I was referring to this one: http://www.loansdirectuk.net/.

I think gb12345 was referring to this one: http://www.lduk-ltd.co.uk/. The domain name (lduk) suggests Loans Direct UK and their registered office is Loans Direct UK Ltd ta Loan Spotter, 7 St Petergate, Stockport. SK1 1EB.

Very confusing. Do you have a third option to throw in to the soup? :rotfl:

I'm confusing myself now. Frantically taking notes and head spinning and back on phone. Snow tiger. Your original thought was right. Not the.net one. God.

    Success!

I emailed back immediately with the following.

    Good afternoon.
I refer you to the attached letter which you received yesterday.
I have spoken to one of your call centre employees and they have offered to refund me £30.75.
I will not be accepting this.
I am writing to you to log an offical complaint and demand a more reasonable sum refunded to me. Under no circumstances can a credit check and a few text messages equate to £39.00 in costs and I believe that the FOS would agree with me that these charges are excessive.
Although I notice that you dont call yourselves brokers I would like to point out that under the consumer credit act a broker's fees are capped at £5 and any money over this which has been paid by a customer must be returned if no loan has been signed for.
I am willing to accept a refund of £59.75 which is £10 short: this will give you more than enough to cover any reasonable costs.
If the aove agreement is not accepted then I will initiate a chargeback with my card issuer or take further steps if necessary.

I hope for a swift response.

I then got a callback offering me the FULL £69.75.

I can't thank you all enough as reading this thread has really spurred me on to push for my money back.

    Thanks again.

Well done. Good to see someone follow the right course and action and get their money back, rather than bang on endlessly about their human rights in a 100 word paragraph without punctuation. :)

    I was referring to lduk-ltd.

I got both URLs from this thread and when I tried the first one it wouldn't connect, so I guessed that they might have changed domains.

    Hello Everybody

Unfortunately, fortunately... i used to work for them in their office in Old Trafford. Address: Loans Direct UK
    Paragon House
    48 Seymour Grove
    Manchester
    M16 0LN

..The person in charge of all of this, and the MD of the company is a man called Syed Rizvi.

[text removed by MSE Forum Team] NO BODY GETS THEIR MONEY but all that happens is that Everyone Pays a one-off fee for £49.99 which they never see again either.

Another thing to remember is their WORDING.

They will Never 'Guarantee' you any money or a loan.
The ONLY thing they Guaranteed was a 'Loan Offer'...
    ..Not the money.. the Offer.

I would Strongly advise everyone to avoid that company and a senior authority to look deeper within the company and its activities, as they must stop.

Taking money from those who need it... is NOT right.

    Have a good day people.
