Nah, I have absolutely no intention of putting pen to paper with this organisation. They can take your money at the click of a button, yet expect you to write to them in order to claim it back? And then they have the audacity to claim a portion in 'administration charges'! They appear to be totally ignorant of consumer law,, or just don't care for it.
The law states a cooling of period, they have been given due notice.
I will be contacting my bank when they open in 45mins and, hopefully, they will be able to snatch it back thereby negating my need to bring legal council to bear.0 -

You'll be unlikely to be getting a refund then.I will be contacting my bank when they open in 45mins and, hopefully, they will be able to snatch it back thereby negating my need to bring legal council to bear.

You paid for a service (i.e. finding you a loan) and the company appear to have provided you with that service, but you've not proceeded with their recommendations, so it is unlikely that your bank will be able to help you0 -
No, they didn't find me a loan. They provided companies that MAY offer me a loan on completion of an application loan. I, like most people, are more than capable of doing that myself.
I actualy discovered this company yesterday and filled in the form. It is then that they came back telling me I had been accepted and that a one-off fee of £69.75 was needed in order to take the transaction forwards. It did NOT state what was on the other side of the click so I did not at first click it, I e-mailed them asking 'Who is the lender, and what are the terms please? And requesting whether the £69.75 was the ONLY charge.
They never got back to me.
This morning I followed the link in their first e-mail to me and, thinking I would get more information following the click button was dismayed to find only what I said in my previous post.
I do not believe, in a court of law, that this company would have a leg to stand on.0 -
Maverock - you will have to write a letter. No letter = no refund.
If you order goods by email, they won't be delivered back by email. The same applies to this order you have placed.
I'm surprised you carried on with the deal after they ignored your email asking them to clarify some queries you had."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I was actually wrong (so many similar companies it's hard to keep track of who offers what).
What you have actually paid for is a 30 day membership of their "Membership Scheme". So you have got you paid for. Nowhere do they guarantee that membership will get you a loan.
Here is the important bit of their T&Cs for your situation.Cancellation of Membership
A Member can terminate or cancel their membership within 14 days of inception by requesting cancellation in writing to the following address: Loans Direct UK Ltd, Office 8, 10 Buckhurst Road, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN40 1QF.
If you're too stuborn or lazy to write and post a letter then you obviously have money to burn and can't need a loan that much.0 -

Hung by their own petard, so to speak.
I called them about 15 mins ago and spoke to a polite lady who took my number and told me someone would get back to me. Hmn!0 -

I will be surprised if they get back to me, but I will be even more surprised if I get my money back. I am all geared up for a legal fight with this lot and, I am hoping that the resounding publicity will destroy them.0

If it went to court, they will likely present their T&Cs to the judge detailing how members can cancel their subscription by writing in to them in 14 days.
And there is unlikely to be any "resounding publicity" on a small claims case for 70 quid.
Stop being so obstinate and write the letter that they request, if after doing that they don't refund you then ask your bank to do a chargeback on the basis that they broke their T&Cs.0
