  • Update on the situation.

I sent my letter in and it was received by them on the 18th September as i called to check. The woman said a member of management must talk to me first before the account is cancelled and they are yet to call me.

Today i had the £60 fee taken out of my account on a day i really need it, not sure what to do...?

    Read Apples2's post #83 above.

In the meantime, you could try asking your bank to do a chargeback for the £60, telling them the money has been taken out as a result of misleading information (aka scam).

  • Well ive just called up again and was told to wait for manager to contact me in the next few days...

What is the likelihood of my bank processing the chargeback thing?

You could always keep calling them and keep waiting for a call back. Top tip: it might go on a while...

You've requested your refund, now send another letter and head it FORMAL COMPLAINT.

Request your refund again and take it to the FOS when they fail to refund you.

Another top tip: STOP RINGING THEM....
  • I sent off the letter headed formal complaint and they rang me yesterday with a 'formal apology' stating they do not give refunds. What do i do next?

Ditto. How many times do we have to say it.

Will this still work even though the money was initially taken out on the 18th sep?

And if the chargeback doesn't work follow Apples2's advice here and refer it to the FOS

Or do both - the FOS referral will cost them the best part of 500 quid.
  • well i stated that i will refer it to the FOS if there is no refund within the 8 weeks in the letter

You don't need to wait 8 weeks - you've had their final decision so you can go to the FOS straight away.
  • ah cheers, didnt realise
