The FSA don't deal with complaints from individuals.

The rest of your crusade is a waste of time. As you are testament, nobody cares or researches anything before throwing their money away, only afterwards do they search.

Just stop phoning them and write for you refund.

The best thing all of you could do is to follow the instruction and get a refund. If everyone did this, the company would soon fold.

Tarmstrong why go to FSA (as Apples2 mentioned) or even trading standards, just go to the FOS if you dont get the refund within the 8 weeks or however long the terms dictate you have to wait.

After recently falling for the misleading behaviour of loan direct I was charged £70.00 for a 30 day membership.

I was successful in obtaining a refund however I had to request the refund in writing and they have not refunded the full amount. they refunded £49.00. The deficit was a £14.99 charge for a programme called credit cleaner (which i never used) and £1.00 for every day of membership (bearing in mind that by the time you have requested a refund on their website, waited a day for them to respond stating that the refund must be done by post, compiled the letter and posted it, it's approximately a ten day process.

I would suggest that this company is operating barely within the legislation that governs them and that their conduct is more than questionable.

I personally will forward all of this correspondence to the financial conduct authority and I would urge anybody who has suffered by the hands of these con-artists to do the same.

Just to re-iterate, YOU CAN REQUEST A REFUND IN WRITING, HOWEVER YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE FULL AMOUNT BACK UNLESS YOU PURSUE THIS DECEPTION AND INVOLVE THE AUTHORITIES.

    Good luck............

    .
To be fair, it is actually a one day process. If you read the terms and conditions you will see a refund must be requested in writing.
24hrs after giving your money away your refund letter could be with them requesting cancellation for a FULL refund.

The FOS deal with complaints from individuals, the FCA look at the company as a whole and the way it conducts its business (they are not the ones to complain to, just complain to the FOS).

Loans Direct are a company that charge you £69.75 to find you a loan that you could very easily find yourself. The sign up page on their website does not tell you about the fee
The home page does but if youve searched for payday loans you get taken directly to their sign up page.
I had no idea that they would be removing the money from my bank account and when I discovered I immediately contacted them (watch the phone bills!). They told me to request a refund and I did. They came back telling me I could have £45.36 which was a £19.99 set up fee and the rest for 0 days of membership. Yes it said zero days!
At first I did not take the refund and kept asking for a total refund. After numerous contact forms I decided to take the £45.36 and report them to the Financial Ombudsman.
Nothing happened for 3 1/2 weeks and suddenly I got a text 2 days ago from Loans Direct telling me I would get a refund of £24.39 exactly what they owed me. Result!!

Had you actually read the T&Cs that you ticked the little box saying you agreed to, you would have seen that they would charge you a fee.

You would also have known the correct way to request a refund, which would have just cost you the price of a recorded delivery letter rather than a lengthy phone call.

I was looking for a Payday loan and it was one of the options that came up on the search.
The page looked EXACTLY like a loan application and I put in my details and ticked boxes as we all do!
I used the absolute correct way to ask for a refund and they refused as you can see. (please re read)

They will give a FULL refund if you cancel within 14 days because they have to give a full refund.

Remember who you are dealing with, a Company whose ONLY purpose is to take money from people who will not read the terms. This is how they make their money, not from loans.
You can't expect them to play ball with you.

Your next step is taking it to the FOS

Instructions and forms to fill out are here

I don't need to re-read. You rang them. Did the T&Cs say to ring them to ask about getting a refund or did they say to write in.

You are moaning about a costly phone call that there was no need for you to have made, if you had spent 30 seconds doing a bit of reading.
