Because you presumably authorised the payments on your old card. Cancelling cards does nothing to prevent payment.

Otherwise we'd all be buying sports cars and then cancelling the card as soon as we drove off.

After making the mistake of entering my details and being robbed by them last year, I ended up cancelling my debit card, and never visiting any of these sites again, I haven't visited a payday loan site or anything. This morning loans Direct style another £70 from my account via debit? How is this so when they don't have my new debit card details? Absolutely furious this morning.

How did you deal with them "robbing you" last year? Did you report the transaction as fraudulent to your bank and get it reversed? If so, it looks like that little lie has come back and bitten you.

If you never officially cancelled your subscription to their service (i.e. by following the instructions in their T&Cs) then you owe them the money, which they have now taken as your details will have been updated by the visa updater service.

When I first did this, it was months ago, they took the money then, bank advised me to cancel my card so I did, The company refunded me, but this morning have taken it out again.

Did the company refund you or did you get a chargeback via your bank?

I come on here for advise and get accused of lieing? Nice one, thanks for that, do you work for this company?
    Have a great day...

Not sure, as at the time the bank said there was nothing they could do.

Did you ask the company for a refund or did you just do it all through your bank?

I phoned the company, he apologised for the site not being clearer and said I had to write in,I didn't do due to some shocking family news, so forgot about it, he did say he'd put a note on my 'membership', thing is though I've never received any literature from them or my bank about anything.

It sounds like the company cancelled your subscription and refunded you (which is unusual as you didn't follow their T&Cs and write in) - so I think you can class this as an unauthorised transaction.

Speak to your bank's disputes department and explain to them that the money was refunded last year and that it has now been debited again and you never gave authorisation for that.

Surely this has to be a lesson to anyone needing cash, stay well clear of these money lenders, one slip and they have got you in their clutches, try a bank or better still a credit union.
