Of course they do! They need them more than most! What kind of parents do you think they'd make?
Remember at the time of requesting an abortion the woman is already pregnant, the time for foresight has been and gone and she needs an abortion if she doesn't want a child.
Of course we should address why people ( is everyone forgetting it's not just women?) fail to use contraception effectively but punishing them and their unwanted offspring by denying them an abortion is not the answer.Started Comping 25th September 2013.

Aplogies if I have got this wrong but were you not the poster who advocated breaking the limbs of a youth for throwing eggs in a thread which has now been deleted?
So what? Where's the comparison?*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

I don't think it is at all and I think the information given out by the NHS and private clinics mostly gives all the options in a factual and dispassionate way. I've never seen any official material on abortion nor heard any medical professional say "Ahh sure, have an abortion, they're no big deal. Fill yer boots!"
Don't you think though that if enough people are of the view that it was a mere trifle to them, that becomes the/an accepted view? Of course it is not the official line, but often people listen to peers more than professionals.
Additionally, I agreed with you that some of the content of the Care Confidential website was unjustifiable but you took issue with parts of it which seemed to me to be expressing reasonable views. Views which many women would agree with.Welshwoofs wrote: »I also put evil in marks. But as has been seen on this thread, a lot of people do think that if a woman has an abortion she should experience emotions ranging from guilt to inner turmoil and you (as in the general 'you') simply cannot make someone feel what they don't feel.
I don't agree with those views at all, but I do think that regardless of what we personally feel about such a situation it is not right to give that opinion in such a way that it trivialises the actual act overall.0 -

But we don't have a responsibility or duty to sacrifice our own health and well being for the benefit of others. People may choose to do so, which is admirable in many cases but we don't force others to, nor do we condemn them if they don't wish to. If you believed in that, I presume you'd be queuing up to give your organs away to perfect strangers, after all why is your right to health or life greater than theirs?Started Comping 25th September 2013.

The point, which I would have thought was obvious, is that it seems what is considered acceptable or nasty is subjective. I found those posts fell into the latter category, but I had the option to post my POV or not read rather than censor others.0 -
Do you think the abortion stats are as alarming as they appear to be on the surface? I'm trying, and failing, to figure out how many episodes of intercourse take place each year and what percentage of those results in the need for an abortion. Once that maths is considered the situation may not be as bad as it seems. If you read my post I did say that if on an individual level the choice is easy trough circumstance, overall, the act of abortion should not be seen as a trivial event.
I don't believe it was conceived to be used in the way it is now used. Indeed, there are ongoing investigations into various breaches by numerous doctors who seem to have become cavalier with consent issues, and often openly flout the law with regard to the reasons for termination. The law prescribes criteria there is much debate over whether that criteria is routinely met.
I deliberately put the words in quotes to take away the connotation of the second word. Not evil in the sense that requires atonement, but evil as in a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Yes I was involved in the other thread but once again it got nasty and vindictive poet, but I don't recall anyone being as upset about it as I know people are about this one. Comments to another poster who obviously is distraught is unfair.
Personally I don't care a jot about abortions one way or another but I do care about people sat at home obviously hurting.0
