    A couple of questions..

    1)
With a full s&s ISA allowance being £7200, assuming I had £1000 worth of fund A in the original ISA, then decided a few months later to cash in on fund A and put in £1000 each in fund B and fund C, would I now have £4200 left of share/fund ISA allowance, with funds B and C now also benefitting from the CGT benefits ?

    2) If the above is true, assume the same scenario as above but this time with £2000 in the funds. Would I be left with only an allowance of £1200? If I wanted to increase fund B by another £2000, would this take it over the limit, or would I need to be buying £1200 worth of fund B in the ISA whilst buying in the remaining £800 from a separate non ISA account.

Hope the above made any sense! In short, I guess I was wanting to know if ISA investment is kept separate from non ISA investments.

    Thanks

Provided you kept the £1000 from fund A within the ISA and use that to switch to Fund B you would only need another £1000 for Fund C. So you would still have £5200 of your allowance.

As above keep the £2000 within the ISA and switch funds. Then it doesn't count as extra.

It would be if you need to do this.

If it was stickied there would be no need for bumping.

Meanwhile bumping is the only way to keep this very useful thread in the front page so that people who are new to the board may see it. You probably subscribed to it beacuse of someone bumping it in the first place.

"If it was stickied there would be no need for bumping." - true true  but:

This is not the only way as you may well put some proper input adding useful comments and opinions :T which will make this post even better and more useful instead of full of bumps.

There is no need for newcomers to see it if they are not interested in the topic concerned anyway :D and if they are the title is so informative that it will come up on top of every search with that keywords used. -This is exactly how I've found it :Das I'm really interested in what I'm interested in and not in what is popular discussion

=> bumping won't help that brilliant discussion as much as useful posts of you all would do...

If there was some useful input to add I'm sure it would be added. Sometimes though there just isn't anything more to be added but the post quickly moves down the pages.

Unfortunately people don't use the search function as they should. I have lost count of the number of times I have answered a post by linking to this one.

Can I say "me too", or is that not constructive enough?
