I thought I did, but clearly editing my early post doesn't do it. I'll know next time!

We've asked about this before, but there was some reason they didn't want to do it.

  • Ok, so I've picked three I like the look of:

    Norwich Sust Future European Growth
    Jupiter Ecology
    Jupiter Environmental Income

As far as I can tell they all seem fairly medium risk. They're fairly diverse in terms of sector breakdown, and as geographically divserse as they can be (couldn't find any ethical funds in Far East/Latin America/India/etc). They've all done well over the past 5 years, but I'm at a loss as how to gauge future potential.

    What do people think?

    Bumped :D

Oh and I'm considering the Aegon Ethical Equity fund in place of the Jupiter Environmental Income fund. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Join the club! nobody really knows and everyone has there own theories. I am sure someone important will be along soon with their analysis of your portfolio, but opinions can be as diverse as the funds you can pick

I would just say research, research and ohh, more research. Have an aim and a timeline. Judge your portfolio 'yourself' on this - no one else is better than you at making this decision - it's your money and you know better than anyone else whether this risk suits your goals and timelines or not.

Good luck! (are choices are half chance, so luck plays a huge part!)

Some of you have been posting returns on your investments over the last year - I am going on a tax year approach as per an ISA, and currently am up 16% over the year - so relatively happy. This is a combination of funds/shares/ETFs/commodities, and is fine tuned and actively managed.
It would be good to hear other peoples returns on their portfolios, and judge whether funds/etfs/shares/commodities over the year has been the best policy.

I am currently relatively heavily into gold (etf rather than fund), and some shares, as I believe we will have a bit of a run over the next few weeks or so. I will probably sell everything on the 1st day of the new tax year, and restart the portfolio.

Hehe, well I have a few questions anyway.

I am looking for some low risk funds to start putting money into S&S ISA from next week. I have been using iii website as I have found navigating round extremely helpful and understanding funds also extremely helpful. These are the funds I am thinking of choosing:
    • City Financial MM Growth Acc
    • AXA Framlington UK Select Opps Acc
    • New Star Tactical Portfolio A
    • Stan Life Inv UK Opps Ret Acc
However I am trusting iii's view on the risk (also FTs) and was wondering how useful they are? I can imagine FT are extremely useful and iii also too as they are run by Halifax.

Also, they have a Financial Crown Express Rating. I have never heard of these so I am not sure how reliable they will be, looking at their website their ratings seemed to be made of reliable data but I just would like clarity with them?

Also, finally, should I go with HL or iii? It seems that HL have a higher % to buy (being around 5% for all, whereas iii is 1%) and I can't see any other problems so was thinking iii. Is anyone else using iii? + or - feedback about them pleeeeeeeeeeeease.

    Thanks for any advice :)
