Sorry, but do people really count sheets of loo roll? given it only costs a fiver for several rolls, isn't life a bit sad when people are risking checking their prostate for the sake of the luxury of a 20 tog duvet in your hand.0

My grandmother has that medicated tracing paper stuff? Can someone explain the purpose of this? The term 5hit off a shovel comes to mind0

Seriously! Don't be a skank. Just use what you need. Good lord.....there's money saving and there's just downright skankiness!0

If I go into the supermarket loo and they have just changed the rolls, they usually leave the reminder of the old roll at one side. If you don't catch them, they invariably end up rolling around the floor, I take them home, thereby saving the waste and helping with the state of the toilet.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

 Find the one that's right for you and BULK buy when on offer (only use what you need) :whistle:Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
some things should never be compromised on - at £2 for quilted velvet in a supermarket, I'll stick to that - what a bizarre money saving question to ask!
Well, think of it in environmental terms then. Just one less loo roll per person in the UK, per month would be over 720 million less rolls used per annum - hw much less atmospheric pollution there would be in the reduced number of lorries on the road to haul that lot about - plus chemicals used for processing etc etc.0 -
Yeah, good luck with that.
Unless there's a huge drive, you won't even get 10% of the nation interested. Look how many years it's taking with saving water and the usage of plastic bags!0 -
Haven't read the whole thread but you could always pinch some from work, not a whole roll of course that would be stealing
just enough for that evening!
We buy value, I hate thick toilet paper and it blocks the pipes as we live in an old house. Which is very embarrassing as all the neighbours get to see what everyone has put down the loo about three times a year when it does block ...Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
Cheapest?!
HOTELS: When you stay in hotels and b&b,s, get your money's worth by shoving a few spare rolls in your bag.
PUBLIC AMENITIES : get hold of a selection of security keys, and grab a few bulk size rolls. Sports centres too, gyms, clubs, railway stations, supermarkets toilets, etc.
WORKPLACE: grab a few at work.
What you do:be sporty, walk around with a sports bag..... Perfectly light to take it in with you for security!0 -
Use paper and then a wet wipe. You'll find you're cleaner too!:embarasse:embarasse
I have to look after small rural Sewage Works - please DO NOT put anything down the loo except toilet paper as all these other things block up the works. No wet wipes, bathroom wipes, sanitary items, cotton buds, disposable nappies etc - if you do somebody has to get down on their hands and knees to clean it all out!:mad:0
