We had been together for 4 years exactly when we got engaged! Met at the start of June 2008 and got together officially a few weeks later. We kind if met through a friend but it wasn't a set up and I didn't even know said friend was going to be in the same pub as me that evening. But I got introduced to my now OH and a few others and me and the OH hit it off and spent the rest of the night talking.

I honestly thought I'd probably not hear from him again, but the next morning I wake up to find he'd found me on facebook and wanted my phone number. Been together since!

I dont think this is romantic lol. me and my other half started talking on Facebook after him and my best friend joined a car page on there, she told me i should add him so i did, we met up a few days after, i went to stay at his (his mums house) a week or two after and never left. this was October 2009, found out i was 15weeks pregnant in February 2010, got engaged in march! Now we have a gorgeous 2 year old girl and are getting married next year

We met when I was 15 and he was 16. Been together for 9 years when we got engaged and will be married in 4 weeks after 2 years of being engaged and saving for the perfect day!

We got engaged two weeks ago I can now officially join the MSE Weddings board!!!!!!!! YAY!

We first got together nearly 6 years ago at university. I was a 2nd year student helping the freshers move into the student accomodation. He got out of a taxi and I was literally the first person he saw! I figured out he liked me too when a couple of days later he stole my shoes in the SU bar and threw them into a tree outside so we could flirt away from our friends whilst getting them back. We were inseperable (even had the same job so worked together, even when one was off duty!) and feel SO lucky for that year together as students, we were both so happy and I was healthy and full of energy, we were able to get to know each other inside out very quickly He decided not to continue his degree, and instead of him going back to Northern Ireland we started our life together "grown up" style in my hometown with him working and me commuting to university.

We got engaged on a weekend break to Cambridge on that super-hot weekend a couple of weeks ago. We had been to see A Midsummer Night's Dream performed in the Fellows Garden at Queens College the night before (he'd meant to ask me then but didn't have the ring on him!), and had been round the museums that day and he went all quiet so I asked if he loved me and he said "Of course I do!" and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in a little back street near Kings College. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be marrying my best friend

I met my other half on fireworks night through a mutual friend and despite nothing happening I had a gut feeling there was something special about him. We didn't have our first date until 2 days before Christmas 2010. We got engaged at just over 18 months and we will have been together just under 3 years by the time we get hitched.

We had been together 7 years when we got engaged. We met at my 18th birthday party where one of my friends brought him along and we had our dd april last year and then he asked me to marry him christmas last year.

Met at church (he thought I was stuck up, I thought he was arrogant - both right)
Went out together for 3 months
Engaged for 3 months (aged 20 when I got married)
Happily married for 28 years!
