  • Sunday so far:

    1) re-jigged spreadsheets to include NEW tax estimate
    2) re-jigged spreadsheets to include estimated drop in tax credits
    3) closed eyes. Panicked. Opened eyes. Looked at monthly balance. Still have £300 excess. THANK THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!!!

    4) re-jigged spreadsheet to include "entertainment" so I won't just spend and fly by the seat of my pants on that any more.
    5) more praying to the FSM

    6) Still hit in the region of £300

    7) phew

Get back to Sunday plan of massive spring clean.
Daughter is tidying bedroom like a fury after influx of 'new' furniture. I need to tidy eBay area

Daughter found Burberry hanger in wardrobe and instantly looked it up in eBay to see his much it might sell for.
Popped into her bedroom. She now tidies with eBay window constantly open. I couldn't be prouder :)

  • I'm watching Made in Chelsea because it is hilarious, and and me and daughter slightly wetting ourselves laughing over the two toffs sitting in "The Grange" as we went there last year on a lastminute.com mystery hotel deal, for s*d all. Cost us less for a night in London than the cheap nasty hotels. Couldn't afford to eat there. Or pick anything out of the minibar. But :p still funny to see it on tv as THAT posh:rotfl:

  • I'd forgotten I have new curtains, courtesy of neighbour who moved out of house and left us a load of stuff.... Gerbil-damaged curtains have now been replaced :)

  • It has slowly dawned on me that because my tax credits have been slowly decreasing over the years and if I do get another job (peri) they will possible fall off altogether, that moment when my daughter leaves home and goes to uni won't leave a financial hole as I'll have been gradually getting used to no benefit/more employed income over the years anyway.

  • Early night again tonight (with a half term lie-in, fab!). Daughter has appointment with HSBC tomorrow for junior account, she's looking forward to getting away from Barclarse :) I've got a bit longer but I'll get there eventually....

  • Today was supposed to be a free/very cheap day but it's already spiralling a bit ..........

I smashed my pirex jug yesterday so need a new one (Home Bargains, love them!), Daughter needs 'lap desk' for doing homework on, and toothbrush. Fun day ;p

Actually, it's not that bad. Although I think I should have a category in my SOA labelled "breakages" as I'm so b****y clumsy I lose a significant percentage of all the kitchen crockery once a year, give or take

Just tried to get Prezzo vouchers on Tesco vouchers rewards to find I don't have enough vouchers  again! A little digging later and it turns out they're sending my current vouchers out now, so they don't have them and nor do I. Will fiddle about with them once I get them :) :T

  • I got my bunny back from the vet :( She's in a box with a pretty little flower arrangement on the top. My daughter is now looking for a nice urn-type box for her for my christmas present . Aw.

  • It's been an odd few days - I've earned more over half term than I usually do which is great, and I'm starting to get through the post a myriad of different cards for all my credit cards and accounts, which is scary but great! I spoke to my Mum today about chucking everything I'm spending on the credit cards and she did seem to understand it, which is good, as I don't want to have to lie when we're talking about finances.

Bad news is my bike lights are on the blink - I'm going to look up online to see whether I can change the bulb, but its Halfords, so it's doubtful - they're rubbish and designed to break after a year  Never buying from them again.

I'm off to adjust my signature again before starting an early dinner!

    Toodles

  • I ran the gauntlet of the few teenagers who were brave enough to face the driving rain and terrorise the village - and all for a wee drinkie with a friend :)
I did, however, before I went out, rejig a few bits and bobs - I transferred £950 from the Barclaycard onto the Tesco credit card, leaving me with.............

    Natwest Credit card - £4370
    Barclaycard - £186
    Tesco Credit Card - £1418
    Barclays Overdraft - £814

    Nationwide flexaccount - empty
    Natwest select account - empty
    Co-op account - £90 in uncleared cheques

I think that covers all the accounts!

Natwest & Tesco are both 0% so I'm not doing badly with my plan to get as much debt as possible on 0% APR, at the same time getting as much as possible onto the Barclaycard and off the overdraft in preparation for Barclays repealing my overdraft without warning when their computers kindly inform them that after Nationwide have taken over the direct debits, the account is only in part use as a current account.

Hopefully Ive stayed one step ahead of the banks. Well, one can hope anyway........
