I'm beginning to regret asking Nationwide for a "low balance" text notification. You'd think that as the balance has NEVER risen above £0, it would trigger off something to stop sending thEm out every 5 minutes, now wouldn't you?

Daughter has ear infection but not chest infection. At least she got out of one of them!

The bank thing gets me too! I ended up transferring £5.50 over and just leaving it in!
Hope your daughter feels better soon xx0 -

Haha! That sounds like a plan! (Except I requested a notification if it dropped below £200 as it's going to be my direct debit account, and I'm not putting £200 in!!!)
And thank youShe's in bed watching tv feeling sorry for herself waiting for me to get an omelette for her... which I will do once I've fired off a few more emails - I'm trying to sort out some copyright issues so I can publish arrangements of scores I've done. Emailing composers with my arrangements of their works - it's quite nervewracking

All living composers have been emailed and publishing permission requested  , long dead composers are too dead to care and too dead to be a legal problem, it's the ones that are gone but within the copyright period that I have to tackle next - I have to work out who to email.
If I get any positive responses I'll start cleaning up the copies and organise selling on Sibelius online. It won't bring in much, my market is a little um niche, but it's better than having the scores sitting on my laptop gathering hypothetical dust

My plan today was to make a little headway with my book, but I got sidetracked. At least the sidetracking is another teaching-related income bringer inner (D'you like the grammer? I made it up
)

Yay!!! I have "unreserved permission" from the first composer to publish my arrangement :j (although I do need permission from the publishing house, Faber and Faber)
1 down, 3 to go (plus the load I haven't touched on yet.........)
Now I just need a um proper copy of Sibelius to publish with. Mine is um not um proper.

2 down, several million to go.....
Grieg is in the public domain so no copyright permission needed. I just need to organise my arrangement so that it is derived from the public doman version rather than the copyrighted arrangement I actually took it from (check for editorial derivatives on my score), edit it myself as I never really polished my version, and then I can publish.
Well, I do need to look up my software issue first, but at least I'm getting somewhere.
Who knows, I might make 20p a year out of this lot :P

Oh My God! I've now had 3 emails back from composers, 2 of whom categorically love my arrangements, the other said it was interesting (well, it's not an insult....) and one of the two has offered to help me get it published!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
I have lots of these. It's great to hear the good feedback from the composers that I nicked the music off, even if I never get rich off the music!
I'm bouncing off the walls a bit right now :beer:

Daughter still off school today
tutoring and flute has been cancelled as she's too ill/deaf for thE tutor tonight and she won't be able to breathe well enough/blow without ear pain by Thursday for flute.
I have a busy day today (although due to daughter's school absence, I'm going back to bed for a few hours first!) - I've got loads of work to do on those arrangements but I can do it all on my laptop (I don't even need a piano as the piano work is done, I just need to tidy up and edit the scores) so I'm going out to the local arts centre to use their free wifi and fre heating while I pay for their cheap cups of tea. I'm not sure it's cost effective but I work from home and need to escape sometimes or I'd go bonkers!!!
