  • According to my budget forecast, I could potentially shave between £700 and £800 off the overdraft this month.
    :)
    Potentials are wonderful aren't they?
So full of um potential :o

  • Well, I managed to stop the Barclaycard direct debit for £110 for this month in time, they still took £30, but at least I cut my repayment costs a little :) natwest is going to hurt enough this month, I needed leeway on the Barclaycard as every penny still needs to be thrown at the overdraft, and will need to do that for a while

  • 5 items scheduled for listing on Sunday at 5pm.
    Onwards, ever onwards....
    Lesson prep next!

Jut popping in to say well done on facing Next, isn't it odd how we attach feelings to places, at least on this occasion it brings bad memories, so you might not want to visit very often and therefore save some money, not such a bad thing.

I have never been one to get caught up in fashion, so I cannot work out how some people get so excited about the Next sale, to me it is a place of torture, nothing appears to be that wonderful and they are only trying to get rid of stock that did not sell at full price, so why would I think it is a bargain. Hmm I think this says more about me than anything else :) I am never happier than when I am wearing a nice comfy pair of jeans.

In fact I recently had to chuck a pair out as the backside had gone, and I have no idea where I got them from, so cannot replace them, add to that they must be about 10 years old, I don't think it too bad that I will need to do the rounds of the shops and try on new jeans urgh my pet hate is trying on clothes in shops.
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post
  • Thanks for that Heffi :) yes it is odd how we attach memories to places, and my bad memories of Next have actually been what stopped me going back till now, so maybe not a bad thing at all!!
Yay to your amazing trackies! I have a pair of cheap trackie bottoms that I wear endlessly and I'll be utterly mortified when they die :(

  • Well today wasn't as cheap as I was hoping....

    £45 daughter oboe insurance
£6.93 scores found in charity shop
£7 sandwich and 2 coffees bought while researching book with help of colleague
£19 3 smart jumpers from M&S, bought on voucher given as birthday present (2 in sale, 1 somehow missed the till and I got for nothing :o)
£20 refund on jeans from Next (yay!)
£12 wok bar meal for me and daughter
    Ouch for the lot

    Toodles

  • Right ho, must make last post sounding bit more positive
    £20 next refund is refund
Money spent in marks was on voucher card. Although I'm a bit irritated at spending birthday present money on smart work clothes, I am in a bit of a desperate situation and can't wait for eBay plan to come to fruition, so needs must...
Sandwich money was a waste, I should have packed food, but the coffee was in return for the help of colleague so money well spent.
Scores were expenses, tax deductible, we're all 99p, one will be useful to me personally, the rest very useful for teaching.
Oboe insurance... Unavoidable, and considering my daughter is getting a £2000 oboe on a free loan as long as I pay yearly insurance, that's a pretty amazing deal!

So not as bad as it looks. Next time I'll pack a sandwich though :)

  • Not bad... I scheduled 5 items of clothing to start eBay auctions at 5pm Sunday, b******d one of them up and it's already listed, but got a bid within 30mins of listing :j

  • Massive work day today, taxi in (buses don't go that way this early), bus back. Daughter has friend over tonight for belated birthday sleepover so will be paying for cinema and food for two (actually cinema is buy one get one free as friend is visually impaired so my daughter gets in free as official carer)
Bonus: I get to chill out for a bit after work while teenagers are off out terrorising the village! :p

  • Another Sunday of not particularly saving much spending :( had to buy daughter pair of headphones for music at school as she doesn't have a pair that are any good, bought her new pencil case, glue sticks etc. She bought an iPod shuffle with her eBay proceeds and general savings, so she's dead chuffed. I made b****r all on eBay last week as most items were daughter's, but she made a killing! I've got lots of clothes going on this week though, and I'm finally able to relist the star wars model kit that g*t face didn't pay for, and I have a bid already! (I'm now branching out international shipping, so will see how much difference this makes to final value price!)
I have a fair amount of teaching and lesson prep today, need to get cracking at some point, but brrrrr it's so cold!!!!!!!!
