  • Oooooo tasty!
Sometimes these things are worth the consequences aren't they?
That's an awfully expensive medication, is there not a generic version?

  • I have just done a VAST asda online shop  I'm not 100% convinced this is going to work well with my daughter's dietary requirements, but I'm giving it a shot. Mind you, if asda muck about like they did a few years ago and keep me waiting for 4 hours every time they do a delivery, then I may get a bit annoyed with them...

    Total spend : £90.77

Includes bulk buys of beans, toilet roll, tinned tomatoes, cornflour (it's a coeliac thing), squash and um ahem a 12 pack of cheap beer. :o

Includes many many many items from smart price line. May as well paint the kitchen green to match....

Includes some expensive gluten free items (pepperroni pizza, mini muffins)

Includes expensive delivery slot to work better around teaching :(

Includes substition boxes ticked in the vague hope that packer will have enough common sense not to substitute gluten free muffins for normal ones.

Roll on Monday at....forgotten what time delivery is at already.....

    :rotfl:

  • It dawned in me today that when I finally get a car, I'm going to miss this city's interesting bus-life...

Yesterday i got offered stolen goods while minding my own business's at the back of the bus (do i look the type to buy security tagged handbags out of carrier bags off a moustachioed 'gentleman' in a track suit and baseball cap?)

Today I sat opposite a lovely looking teenage emo who had taken a black kohl pencil and drawn cat whiskers on her cheeks. Very cute!

Car owners don't know what they're missing....

Oh my days this made me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope your daughters feeling better and you too :) X
  • Made me laugh too!! I was shattered on the way back from work, and that funny little emo cheered me up no end. It was all the funnier for the fact that she was trying very hard to look sullen and introspective with moggy whiskers :rotfl:

Daughter had perked up no end, thank you! The weekend in bed/sofa has done its job, I think (I hope!).
I'm ok, at least I'm not having to cycle to work like last year, that was a killer when I wasn't feeling terribly well!

  • I've spent all day today packing up eBay parcels and putting next lot up (mostly daughter's CDs at the minute, but will find more of my stuff too as the months go by - I still have all those vinyls to sort out...)

    I have made today.........

£66.77 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j Not bad considering I didn't actually have to get a job to earn it!!!!!!!

All my parcels are packed in lovely brown paper and lovely brown packing tape, and ready to post tomorrow. They look lovely. They all match. Except the one where I re-used a white jiffy bag for a waistcoat. Cheap for me, but it spoils my lovely matching eBay bag of parcels. I'll pretend I can't see that one :p

  • I'm feeling a bit like dealing with my debts is akin to filling a bath with a sieve. I'm still playing catch up from all the months/years of overspending/not saving/maxing out limits, and occasionally it gets to me a bit. My SOA makes perfect sense, and at some point it will start working, but I put by an amount each month for school uniform/self assessment/Christmas/birthdays/summer no earn months/etc etc but none of these had time time to accumulate before the bills hit me/wil hit so I'm playing a constant game of cat and mouse until my finances catch up with my plans. I'm not sure my Mum understands why I can't make the payments I promised her yet either, as constantly playing catch up means I'm continually paying off an ever-fluctuating overdraft rather than being able to overpay credit cards and loans.
I know it'll get better and I've just got to hang in there as my income is far more than my outgoings, but the accumulation isn't having a chance to work yet as all the biggest bills are comin out first!

    Arghhhhhh!!

It's why, I think, I check my SOA so often, I need to remind myself that even when things look awful like they do today (rent has just come
Out after spends september), I'm actually still on track.

    Toodles :)

  • Asda delivery went ok, although packers pick substitutions of equivalent prices not equivalent products. Hmmmm. A 3 pack of juice boxes is not a good substitution for a 4 pack of own label J20 drinks. Home bargains tomorrow, I'll pick up some half price branded stuff. It's our monthly thing.... I get beer, daughter gets j20!
All arrived on time though and the delivery people have got better. Honestly, 3 or 4 years ago I did this and it was a disaster. Looks like they've upped their game at last!
    :)

  • Have just done another online order for gluten free foods  postage this month alone has cost me a tenner. I'm gradually getting more organised and buying online/in bulk, I'm saving bus fares/massive amounts of time and energy, and money by sourcing cheaper products (OMG the poppy seed savings!!!) but I have a way to go before I've got it organised enough to chuck the whole lot in one order and save myself the postage minimum £35, has to be under 25kg, ouch)
    I'll get there.
Back to work, it's a theory day today so I'm taking frequent breaks!!

  • Did I say frequent breaks in theory? I really did mean frequent!
I love theory actually, but hours of chord inversions and labelling triads makes my eyes go a bit squiffy.
Luckily I have Animal Bars and cups of tea ready to rescue me :)
    All is not yet lost....
