Oooooo just got 53p voucher from APG from today's shop. Not sure how that worked out, I know I used to spend more that I did today when I used to go to tesco. Bizarre. 53p worth of bizarre :)

  • Incidentally, I have the weirdest online banking thing going on. I'm in some sort of peculiar no-man's-land between my Natwest card and my Barclaycard....
My natwest card has £4225 balance plus £135 charges (ish)
My Barclaycard has (ready?) £4636 balance, with £4600 credit (!!!!!!)
Somehow, my no man's land credit card situation has landed me temporarily with £12000 credit/debt. £4000 of it doesn't really exist. But it's still very odd looking at my online banking at the moment...

  • Yay! I've just had my haircut! Paid for out of a hairdressing budget! Accounted for in my SOA! Progress!
    Toodles

  • Which means.....
I can have my hair cut again in 8 weeks!!!
    That'll be novel :p

Just catching up, you have been really busy.

Yay for getting your hair cut, it is one of the things I have to do to make myself look reasonably presentable at work. My sister says I should not bother, but this is from someone who cut her own fringe into her quite long hair and keeps the rest tied up, with the grey showing at the edges...Mine is completely white now so I colour it, I have done it myself for a while, but as I was going to an interview last month, I decided to treat myself to a new do, colour and cut £70  it looks nice again though so money well spent and sort of budgeted for. I doubt I will be getting it done regularly, but what a nice treat it was.

    I have I have!

Good for you!! Even us DFW deserve a treat, don't we? And we certainly deserve not to look like we've been dragged through a hedge backwards while we're working on clearing our finances :)

(my new epiphany. I like this one :) )

  • I've just been offered 8 days dogsitting at 7 days/get one free rates £18 per day by a dog sitter friend who is fully booked :)

10th October this will be a very full house: 2 people, 2 rabbits, a gerbil, and a miniature collie. Awwwwww.
I'm going halves on the money with my daughter as she will be doing half the work (she LOVES dogs!)

That is good news about the dog sitting, it is not something I could do, I am not a great lover of animals, it is like having a permanent 2 year old in the house :D always needing to be looked after, I think I am getting selfish in my old age...some would say about time too ha ha

  • Haha! Horses for courses, I reckon :)
I wouldn't do 8 days babysitting for a 2 year old, I'd go bonkers, I've done the toddler thing once :p dogs are much easier, so is teaching kids!

  • Well that was a bit scary!
In my newfound attempt at only putting actual groceries in 'groceries' budget (such a novel idea, really), I chucked flan dish for daughter's cookery class (£5.99) in 'household', a hitherto unbudgeted budget (syntax???)
And spent £40 in Next on 2 pairs of jeans for daughter as literally all her leggings are now wrecked, unwearable, and have been sewn up so many times they are now unrepairable
£20 will be refunded when she tries them on as I couldn't work out what size to get so bought 2, and it's all within clothing budget.
I like Next jeans, their sizing is really well standardised, so once she works out what size she is in there, I can get her jeans from eBay, it's what I do from me and they ALWAYS fit.
The problem is, Next was my go-to-shop when I was overspending, so walking up to the cashpoint brings back awful memories of being horribly in debt, having cards declined, doing nothing but spending etc etc. even though I know this spend was within budget, it was quite tricky to get my head round that old checkout point.
    Did it though!
    Clothes in budget is excellent!
And £20 for a pair of skinny jeans isn't bad at all :)
