jeez i think you are lucky you've only had to wait 16 days...my order was placed on the 31st august and i'm still waiting and i don't have any compo either to make up for it.....

Just spare a thought for the fellow human beings you speak to who happen to answer the phone on behalf of the company you place an order with...its not their fault your precious tv is delayed and therefore don't critiscise them if they dont say what you want to hear because as you say we don't know your background and the importance of the TV, likewise you don't know the background of the person you are speaking to on the other end of the phone and for all you know you could've been their 10th complaint that morning....spare a thought and think of the bigger picture....no-one has died!!!

oh and just for the record i don't work for M&S but i am that human being at the end of the phone who gets abuse when things don't go according to plan!! ;)

Whoa..... bad day on the end of the phone then!

  • ..calm down... how rude..!!!!!!
actually it is a very big day for us...
.. and an 18th birthday is a turning point in a youngsters life ......and as a responsible mother I would want it all to be a fantastic day for her...WITH HER PRESENT ...
and no she wont be watching it on that day, howver when she returned to her digs on the sunday evening it would of been nice for her to be able to utilise it !
how very silly of me to expect delivery of a tv within 16days ......

    Furthermore ROCKPORKCHOP
may i suggest that you keep your opionins to yourself ..after all you have no idea of our personal life....and the issues that have mean it is a very important time for us as a family....

after all this website is dedicated to consumer issues .Payment was taken from my account on 13th september.... delivery has yet again been delayed until after 6th October...
perhaps I could go into Marks and sparks select a few items and inform them I will pay after several weeks ...and perhaps Rockporkchop could tell Marks and Sparks to calm down when they object....

So it would seem that no one is allowed to point out that you're acting like an hysterical child.I'm sure your daughter will be fine it's only a tv !!!!!!.

If you act like this with a minor problem heaven help you if you ever have to deal with a real crisis.

I'm sure that if you talk to "the samaritans" they might put this matter into some perspective for you.:A

    Amen !!!

I don't work for M&S either but I have my share of "the world revolves around me" customers too. One of my collegues answered a call today to be informed the customer didn't want to talk to the "pond life" but wanted to be passed further up the food chain..... I told her she should have informed the customer that she would do her best but transferring calls with flippers could be tricky and they might get cut off.

I am of the opinion that when someone claims someone was rude to them -they either had utterly unrealistic expectations .....or were very rude first. I'm never rude back to a customer-the nastier they get the more cheerful and oblivious to their attitude I get........ usually they give it up and start behaving like normal humans at that point but my sympathies are with the M&S staff having to put up with hysterical ranting -they've tried to put it right -offered flowers and vouchers and nothing is good enough. Yes it is frustrating but throwing tantrums isn't going to resolve anything and just makes you look like an idiot.

Hopefully your daughter is more mature than you are and won't let it (or your hysteria) spoil her birthday.

While I agree with virtually all your sentiments I'd just like to point out that there is no aquatic life that I know of that has 'flippers' and lives in a pond :D.
  • and there was silly me .. of the opionin that when i pay for an item i expect an item within a specified time ......

How very rude of me !!!

Please accept my apologies on behalf of the simple people who... like myself believe in the trusted latin sayiing
    "dictum meum pactum"

may I trust that all you good people out there never have a bad transaction
and that your phones never ring with a complaint !

and for anybody who works in customer services ..dealing with customer complaints, queries, sad people, upset people, happy people, mad people, ignorant people ....
    may I suggest ....
you either put up or look for a new job...
    Just a thought !!!!
