    I would not but from M and S nightmare

    All I can say is we have been there with M and S. All been treated in a unacceptable way lets not go there anymore. When they go bust they will only have their selfs to blame.
    Our local shop is empty most of the time now no ones buying the only thing that does do any kind of trade is their food hall.
  • Phoned customers services... to be given yet another date ... so to recap in the space of 16hrs I have 3 delivery dates from them???

    I have now been told to ignore emails from Marks and Spencers... they have a glitch on the system..

    Well thank you Marks and Sparks

    Blood pressure rising by the minute! :mad::mad:

    UPDATE;

    SPOKE TO LYNNE....:A
    They cannot change delivery date but they accept and understand my upset ;
    gift card on its way to to compensate by way of remit / flower delivery on her birthday :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

    So if you have had bad service contact them dont give in and accept bad customer service!
  • I have to admit I was amazed that my telly did turn up on the 19th Sept - I received about 6 delay e-mails giving me all different dates for delivery. Then I received a text on 17th Sept saying that my order would be with me on 19th Sept. I didn't completely believe the text and was staggered when the telly turned up!
  • The monster cable kit is down from £19.99 to £2.50 - bought several and they are great.
  • UPDATE;

    Phones customer services this morning to enquire as to when the gift card was sent .... birthday 29th so I need to facilitate the card ...
    guess what... it takes 7-10 days to issue the card....
    I ask when it was sent ... finally after I pointed it out to a disgruntled customer adviser Louise that simple maths does not equate
    i.e 7 -10 days... authorised on 24th ... needed for 29th....
    the adviser actually utilised the finance department and requested an exact date of posting...she came back with the 24th.

    So ... to recap;
    NO TELLY NO GIFT CARD = ONE VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER AND EVEN UNHAPPIER DAUGHTER ON HER 18TH BIRTHDAY:(

    It appears nominated delivery is the only way to beat this ...
    what an appalling system.

    I have been a life long customer of M&S .....always regarded it as a British institution....bit like afternoon tea....

    I will no longer be a dedicated customer.
    It should have INTERNET BUYER BEWARE as its slogan...
    Customer service advisers come with an ability to be unhelpful and attitudes that clearly need addressing. Of the 3 I have spoken to only 1 Lynne has been helpful.
    Its interesting that only Lynne asked me to complete a customer satisfaction survey ... Owen and Louise did not .......

    Your daughter is 18 not 8 so I'm sure she'll understand-and will enjoy spending the voucher when it arrives too.

    Yes it's annoying but no point in letting it spoil her birthday . I'm sure she'll still have a fab day and appreciate the TV when it does arrive.

  • Oh for goodness sake angie 062010, calm down and stop over reacting. Mistakes happen with deliveries and you have already agreed decent compensation with M&S. Your daughter will not mind one bit that her present is a bit late, she will surely be far too busy on her 18th to sit and watch telly anyway. Chill out before you do yourself an injury.

    ..calm down... how rude..!!!!!!
    actually it is a very big day for us...
    .. and an 18th birthday is a turning point in a youngsters life ......and as a responsible mother I would want it all to be a fantastic day for her...WITH HER PRESENT ...
    and no she wont be watching it on that day, howver when she returned to her digs on the sunday evening it would of been nice for her to be able to utilise it !
    how very silly of me to expect delivery of a tv within 16days ......

    Furthermore ROCKPORKCHOP
    may i suggest that you keep your opionins to yourself ..after all you have no idea of our personal life....and the issues that have mean it is a very important time for us as a family....

    after all this website is dedicated to consumer issues .Payment was taken from my account on 13th september.... delivery has yet again been delayed until after 6th October...
    perhaps I could go into Marks and sparks select a few items and inform them I will pay after several weeks ...and perhaps Rockporkchop could tell Marks and Sparks to calm down when they object....

  • Angle,
    I feel your pain! Nowhere near as bad as ours didn't include an 18th birthday but with a recent order regarding a furniture item we have had no end to problems. I think they expect you to give up after all the obstacles they put in the way. DON'T! They have ruined ur daughters 18th birthday, may be not for your daughter but certainly for you and as a mother I can't imagine how u feel that you have been let down so much! Ppl seem to forget that we don't all have a spare £100/£200 to go out and make up for the missing present! Wouldn't it be lovely! I hope she has a great day anyway!
