Oooh liza I love that dress. I'm looking for something very similar but with different colouring.
Was it that price in a bridal shop or...?

Thankyou the lady that left the woolworths link. I cant seem to find any normal dresses on there but have found a princess dress which my dd was asking for , for xmas lol
Thanks ok :-) I work there so I kinda know what we sell! Did you buy online or go into a shop? cause there are a lot more clothes in store depending on your store, you might be able to pick up a dress in there, failing that try Matalan. If your colour is red then this is the best time cause of Christmas :rotfl:Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -

Why not combine the two like I did? I went to the bridal shop, found the dress I wanted and then managed to find it on Ebay, brand new, in my size but over 30% off the retail price!0 -
Hi everyone
I got engaged on Sunday & we`re planning to get married on 4th March 09. My fiance & I are paying for the wedding ourselves so we are on a bit of a budget.
We were thinking of going to Gretna Green as it`s a lot cheaper but one thing that isn`t is the recieption. The Mill Forge wants £230 for the hire of their function room before adding £22.50 per person for the meal. This is coming in at around just over £1000 for 35 people and that`s not including the evening buffet.
We live in Northern Ireland and have priced getting married here & although the recieption would be cheaper the photographer and videographer are charging ridiculous prices, so we can`t save either place. Can anyone recommend a good pub that does pub meals in Gretna or any other suggestions would be most appreciated.0 -

Hi dont know much about the Gretna thing but I do know that if you contact the local college in Grenta, Im sure you can get students that are nearly qualified to do the video and photos.
Also I suggest that you read all 111 pages of this forum, like I did, get a notebook and write down (and thank!) every tip that you can and get a lovely list for you to be getting on with!
It might take you some time but I know that there are tips about Gretna in here! Just keep saving the page when you finish reading every page and by next year you should have read them haha!
Hope this helps :-)Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -
Just got back from the shops getting our invitations. I was going to make them but had some inspiration yesterday whilst out with my mum and popped into Paperchase for a looksee. I found some really lovely packs of notecards, brown (paperbag colour) cards with shiny hot pink and turqoise swirly floral patterns on.
I have bought two packs of these gorgeous notecards for £8 and a pack of 25 sheets of A4 hammered paper for £3.50. I may have been able to get the paper cheaper on the net, but when you factor in postage it could have worked out the same. As the paper is A4 there will be enough offcuts to use for RSVP cards and table place names.
So 20 invites, RSVP cards and 45 place names for a grand total of £11.50!!!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -

Cheers Liza83... I'm sure I'll get into a bridal shopsooner or later...
Weemesee - try looking on the local council's sites close to Gretna (or wherever you wanna marry) and look at their venues for hire. Our venue is a gorgeous Tudor building £200 to hire for the night and then the Citywide (I think it's called) - the council catering company - buffets start from £5odd. We managed to get him to agree to us paying by the bottle for the toast/welcome drinks, and taking our own desserts. Yay! So all in it should come in at £1.5k for 140 people for our evening do with catering"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
jellybabies wrote: »what area are you in??? i used to deal with lots of photographers. might be able to recommend someone. if not it is best to go by personal recomendation, for price and quality and personality. some are a bit grumpy and that dont make for a relaxed day.
ps. most photographers started off being in the engineering trade and then swapped jobs. useless info or what??
Hi Jellybabies! I am a new MoneySaver and am peering around trying to find a good wedding photographer in Edinburgh. Might youperhaps know any who are in the North of England or Scotland? (One North of England photographer volunteered that they were willing to travel up, so I thought I'd broaden the search).
Any thoughts are very welcome.0
