It was cheaper for OH to comission 2 platinum rings from a local jeweller than getting it from a chain like goldsmiths.

Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap and personal save the date cards? I remember someone saying about postcards printed with your photo but I can't remember who. Please Help?

I made magnets for mine. Bought the blank magnets from ebay. Friend managed to get me some card for free from her partners work but its not expensive to buy anyways and I printed them off in work and cut them and put them into the magnets myself. Got some wee envelopes from art shop and printed labels for the addys and that was that. Total cost was no more than £20. Think i paid about £25 for the magnets but that was for 50 and I used only about 20 of them so will prob just sell the left over ones on again. Everyone was really impressed with them because they could tell I had made an effort with them

I went to the most amazing wedding yesterday and had to share it with you all!
The wedding had a film theme. We didn't have a clue what that meant, except that we knew it was a black tie event. When we RSVPd we had to tell them our favourite film and 5 favourite songs.

The ceremony itself was in a church, and mainly traditional, but they did have love songs from all different films playing while we waited for the ceremony to begin, and then she walked down the aisle to...... "Grow old with you" from the wedding singer - complete with the bit at the beginning about letting first class passengers do whatever they like! It sounds silly, but it is such a beautiful, honest song that it brought tears to my eyes! They also left to the soundtrack to Rocky (as the bride's surprise to the groom)
So pics etc, then on to the reception.
When we got there each table was named after a film (we were silence of the lambs) which had the dvd cover as the table label. Our placecards were a tagged gingerbread man in your place. We each had a pin badge of the characters from the film we had chosen - the point being you guessed which film people were from all night - a great talking point!
There was also a film quiz left on each table which was collected in hours later for a little prize. The playlist for the night included at least one song from each person's favourite songs.

I think having a theme for the night made it really special, and a theme like this one was so inclusive - noone had to feel they couldn't play!

Trying to think now if I can make an idea like this for mine in may!
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o
