    Back to normality!

1 wash done and out on line, second in, Mr S visited and decluttered £s, groceries put away, post opened, unpacked case, put case up in loft, dinner in oven, kids beds stripped, emailed CEX for refund they promised me 2 weeks ago.

Will eat shortly then make kids beds and have a nap before they come home. Lol, mil has just text me a pic of little moo in a bright orange fairy dress and bigger moo in what looks like a paramedic uniform haha and seems they are at the farm as there is also a chicken... She did say she had enough clothes for them I guess...

  • bossymoo - glad to see you back safe and sound

I've really lost my mojo this week, its been hard, no reason other than AF turning up for her visit [once every 3 months] but its been a bad visit!

I'm hoping to get back on board on Monday but not promising, I feel really down at the mo, there is washing everywhere that needs to be done and the ironing pile is taller than me, i just can't be bothered with it all

And I look at what friends are up to on facebook and they are all out enjoying themselves with family and going places, we have no money and I'm totally fed up, humph.

Morning (just) all :D - ETA oopss... took a little longer to post this than I thought lol

After a glass of wine and a blooming good sleep last night (in bed by 10.30pm, and didn't wake up until 9am!) I am feeling much better than I did earlier in the week :D

Had a not so nice letter yesterday from the council saying DD didn't qualify for a free bus pass as she's not at the nearest school  Not happy at that. We deliberately chose a good school (better results than others, mixed sex, and no entry exam required) that was reasonably close but still required a bus journey. At about £2 a day for bus fare (or we can get passes, best value one being £12 for the week or £42 for 4 weeks) its going to get mighty expensive. After looking around I've managed to find a local pass for £77 but its term time only & only valid Mon-Friday until 8pm :( It works out at about a £90 saving though so I'll have to get the stuff sorted for her to get one of those and make sure that during half-term etc I have the cash on hand to pay for busfare if we go anywhere.

This also means that although I wanted to let her stay dinners thats had to go out the window and she'll now be staying packed lunch. She can stick with dinners for the moments as I gave her £20 for lunches and she's been off two days this week ill :( I've told her to keep track of what she spends (its a biometric system so its basically cash less but she can check her balance easily) and when she gets down to about £5 to tell me so she'll always have money on the system in case she forgets her lunch.

DD has no homework (she just needs to print something out to hand in Monday and I have stuff to print out later anyway so I'll do it then), no dad here to take her out today (he's coming tomorrow instead as he's having his car fixed today), and wants her pocketmoney for the week. So today we're going to try and get the house cleaned :D Just here to grab the list while we have some lunch, then we'll get stuck in. ;)

So pleased for you and your OH, msgnomey - I know exactly what you mean. I hope the sun continues to shine for you both. :j

We enjoyed the £1.99 breakfast at the local garden centre, but DH came back in a bit of a strop from C Tr@ders when I wouldn't let him buy himself a miserable grey rugby top in place of the returned T-shirt. I think he's recovered now, after a piece of my home-made cake and a power nap (not that he sleeps badly at night, but he seems to need to start the day again when something upsets him).

I have also posted all the birthday cards and crossed a couple of other items off my personal list.:)

    Got lots of jobs done

    Tidied garage
    Hoovered garage
Sorted more stuff to add to car boot pile
    Fixed DS2 work apron
    Stripped all beds
    2 loads of washing
    Swept kitchen floor

Feeling grim now though with sore throat.

DH cutting the hedge for the last time this year. Need to get some washing in and put the next lot out.

Welcome back Bossy and happy birthday to Pixie for tomorrow.

I am worn out after spending most of today shopping, so the grass cutting can wait till tomorrow, while I just sit and enjoy the garden for the rest of the day.

Dog walking will wait till later as its just too hot again at the moment.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
Spend less now, work less later.

    Hi all.

Hoppy Birdday for tomorrow, Pixiedust (saying it now, in case I don't get online tomorrow);)

WB Bossymoo; good to have you home.:o

also need to go to C. Tr@ders to return the ghastly T-shirt that DH bought for himself a fortnight ago. He tells me he *never* wears T-shirts, yet bought himself one with some ghastly slogan on it. I refuse to be seen with him if he puts it on!
OMG what on earth was the slogan??? Mr LW used to have one with a picture of Oliver Reed on it and some daft slogan that I can't remember, and I refused to be seen with him wearing that. Funnily enough, he bought me a T-shirt for my birthday, with a Shakespearean quote on it: "Though she be but little, she is fierce". Think he's trying to say something?:rotfl:

Have a (((HUG))), Helen. Hopefully you'll feel better when AF has packed her bags and gone.:o

I think I did a bit too much yesterday, what with going into town; we were running a bit late (surgery didn't have my prescription ready, despite me putting the request in a week ago) so I told Mr LW to get on down to the optician, and I'd get the prescription handed in to the pharmacy and come down and wait for him; unfortunately self-propelling from S/drug to the opticians has done my damned shoulder in again, good and proper.:(

    Uniform Washer
Hi All, I didnt manage to get near the thread this week until last night... Ive had such a busy week registering with Uni and getting books etc, so Im afraid I havent read much of the thread, Im sorry! I did have a skim and a post last night, but I dont know whats happened to it!

However, Love, hugs, congratulations, commiserations, sticks, spoons and coffees as required xxx

Little one redecorated my kitchen this week (he is 10...so not Little but...) with Cauliflower Cheese while juggling with his plate and trying to get cutlery from the drawer at the same time.... Why didnt he put the plate down, I hear you Cry?!? Well that would be because he thinks he knows best... However a drawer-ful of cauliflower cheese and scraping it off the ceiling showed otherwise...

So I have been forced to continue my cleaning this week and also had a home visit to somewhere which was somewhat neglected and cats had been there unattended for a few days, which spurred me into cleaning my own hovelesque abode :D
And I look at what friends are up to on facebook and they are all out enjoying themselves with family and going places, we have no money and I'm totally fed up, humph.

    Helen

TAke all the ironing and just fold it up and put it away! You can catch up with the ironing when it comes out the wash the next time.... and if anyone wants anything ironing...then do it as you go or they can do it themselves! It will help clear the most of it out the way and you can start again with an empty basket while you catch up with the washing, which will quickly fill it again anyway!... At least you can do one load at a time and keep on top of it!

Helen... I feel like that when I look at facebook. People at cinemas and zoos with their kids... and we are broke! I mean BROKE... and stringing out how long I can make food last!!

Ive become a full time student now and was supposed to clear my credit cards over the summer and foolishly leant the money to someone I trusted who didnt pay me back. So we have basically no available income and a shed-load of debt... So today we went to the park and had a picnic for lunch and spent NOTHING!

Ive recorded a few movies for rainy days from the TV and we can have Movies at home - and sometimes we just go out jumping in the puddles for fun! I have no money now to spend on entertaining or spending time with him...but hopefully Ill keep him busy enough that he wont miss holidays and unnecessary spending!! :o
